I took the plunge into the Tone Master Deluxe Reverb (TMDR), received it last Friday and have been playing for hours since.

Having put it though its paces, my initial impressions had been extremely positive... but then I plugged in my wah pedal, an RMC10, and my enthusiasm is now waning. The TMDR can handle all sorts of overdrive and boost pedals but when hit with the wah it is sharp and brittle and not usable.

The RMC10 is a top notch wah and smooth in a variety amp and even my atomic ampli-firebox but its a no-go with the TMDR.

I love everything else about this amp, but this wah issue is a deal breaker for me.

I'm anxious to hear others experiences with a wah pedal in their TMDR compared to other platforms.... thx.

The brand new speaker in the brand new amp may need some breaking-in.

I’ve considered that, though I’ve git some time logged on it and don’t hear it improving.

I’ve got some time before my return window closes, time will tell... but not too much time.

It generally takes forty to fifty hours of vigorous play before a brand-new speaker begins to mellow out.

Have you tried the RMC10 through a traditional tube Deluxe Reverb?

All of Geoffrey's wahs are awesome. But he makes 10 models because no pedal is perfect through every type of amp. The RMC10 might sound great to you through a Twin and an AC30 and a Tiny Terror, but that doesn't guarantee that you'll love it through a DR -- tube or digital. DR's have their own unique voice.

Lots of people who love DR's find they're very bright amps that can border on shrill sometimes. Clipping the bright cap is common, as are speaker changes and tube rolling.

Plenty of other people embrace the brightness, even accentuate it with JBL's or Celestion Blues.

But if you like the TM straight in and with all the other pedals you've tried, maybe the RMC10 just isn't the best wah for that amp.
