A few must-watch vids on the Tone Master offering here:

Introducing The Tone Master Series:

Tone Master Twin Reverb:

Tone Master Deluxe Reverb:

Always a bit surreal watching vids like this featuring some of the same friendly and talented folks that I bump into in the halls around here (and our LA office) on a daily basis. Looooove the deep-dive gear vids that John is helping orchestrate for us these days - he's one heck of a great guitar player, too. Rick originally started out as a packaging designer here, and at one point sat in a cube right next to me; we'd occasionally stop working and rock out using a tiny little Bullet 15 DSP that we had floating around in our area. (You guessed it, I still have that little amp in my office!) And Shane's the real deal as well - he just recently helped me replace the reverb pan on one of Waylon Jenning's old Twin Reverb amps that I purchased a number of years back and have sitting in my office currently. Great peeps!

The Deluxe Reverb demo was quite impressive.

I do wish that they'd conduct these showcases using a standard (ie: S/S/S) Strat so I could hear how positions 1 and 2 sound.

I like that Rick brought up the XLR out being live when the standby is on.
I've seen some comments poking fun at a standby on a SS amp, but for purposes he described, it's perfect.

I myself made one of those ignorant comments before I fully understood the nature of that switch. And it's actually marked "MUTE" which is a more accurate descriptive of its function.

Yes, that really jumped out to me as well - for armchair home recording jockeys myself who don't have a proper fully-isolated studio arrangement going on, could be *intensely* useful!

My gut reaction was also "WTF?" but I've never had an amp with cab sim or a line out intended to be used as anything other than an effects loop driver.
My Stage Lead 212, you need to plug a shorted plug into the Power amp In to mute it and run direct (and even then, direct to the board sounds really, really bad without a cabinet sim inline.)

I don't think I've ever plugged the line out from my Carvin X100 into anything other than pedals.

I'm very impressed with the variable output... I'm going to have to try one of these with the output down and the main controls at "Stadium Level" to see how good it sounds. It's difficult to tell from the video.

+1

I need to hear and play it in person.

Here's a good one, too - relevant to my own situation as I too have a vintage Deluxe (non-reverb) model just like the one he's A/B'ing against in this clip. I'm still agonizing over whether I want the Twin or the Deluxe so have been watching a bunch of these clips myself:

Well the "lug" factor won't be an issue since both amps are close to being featherweights.

True. Both totally user-friendly on that front. The Deluxe in particular could almost load itself into my truck before shows, I think.

It would even fit into a Prius.

You could trade that thirsty rig in, saving $$$ on gas, reducing your carbon footprint, *and* sparing your back.
