Any opinions on how the amp handles pedals?

Is it as good as the tube version or just good enough?

I want to try some high gain pedals (hard rock, not much as heavy metal) on it, but I am not even sure we have these amps down here in Costa Rica :P

I was wondering the same, and specifically if anyone uses a Klon or other clean boost pedal - does it simulate some warm breakup when you push the input volume?

The Tone Master handles pedal just as well as a vintage Twin or a reissue. In other words, extremely well. Everything just sounds right with no weirdness or issues.

Which pedals are you using HooDooDude? That's great news.

Hey HooDooDude,

Any hiss, hum, or idle noise? I am OCD as when it comes to idle noise?

Thx

I'm currently using a simple small, pedalboard. I've got a Peterson Strombo Stomp, into a Barber Gain Changer for OD, then a Neo Mini-Vent Leslie sim, and finally a Dunlop EP-103 Echoplex pedal. Between those and the Tonemaster reverb and tremolo I've got everything I need. I had been using a Line 6 HX Effects for everything and that actually worked quite well. But the simplicity of the interface on the Tonemaster got me thinking about going the conventional pedal route. The HX Effects is not really complicated but the scribble strip display setup is just a bit cumbersome to use on the fly on stage. With the conventional pedal setup I can tell pretty well at a glance where I need to adjust. But the reality is these pedal are extremely easy to dial in once and get done with it. I think the pedalboard sounds just a wee bit better into the Tonemaster than the HX Effects.
