I was just wondering if it is possible to fit a 9v battery in this pedal?
Is there a secret door? no mention in the booket.

The pedal is designed to be powered by a 9 VDC negative-ground wall wart. There are no provisions for installing a battery.

Sweetwater says it has an "innovative magnetically-latching battery compartment".

That's NOT what Fender says......

https://shop.fender.com/en-US/effects-p ... 41000.html

"Power Requirements 9-Volt DC Negative AC Adaptor"

that's because Fender sucks at marketing and documentation.

Click your link and then zoom in on the second picture. You can clearly see the door at the bottom and the notch to open it.

So how is it that the OP cannot seem to locate it?

At 310mA, you might get 2 hours of use from a 9V battery. If you're lucky.
Which I'm guessing, is why Fender doesn't provide a "door" or provisions for a battery like some of their other pedals.

Just my opinion.

Cheers,

Looking at the bottom of the other pedals in the line, it does look different. Entirely possible Sweetwater got it wrong because they assumed it was like other pedals in the line. If so, Thomann made the same mistake.

RE: Battery runtime, one reason to use a battery is for fault tolerance. When some dope trips on your 9V power adapter and breaks the wire during your set, the batteries should keep you going until you can replace the wall wart.

Caveat Emptor.
Perhaps a signal for who you buy anything from.
At $270.00 if they can't get the information right, why would I buy anything from them? This includes Sweetwater, Thomann, Fender, etc.

Maybe if you open the bottom, you'll find a pez candy.

Having put up with marketing goobs for a fairly long time, they're not to be trusted. They'll say anything to sell a product if they think they can get away with it.
Cheers,

I think both of you are correct. The older models had a neat battery box that flipped down in the front. The newer models are in the same aluminium housing, but they got rid of the battery door.

The images on the Thomann link look correct... two indentations on the sides of the "door" that look like where the stamping has tabs bent in to accept the two screws on the sides.
Definitely different from the bottom of the Marine Layer housing.
The text indicates 9vdc Mains only, no battery option.

If they had images matching Sweetwater, they must have corrected them.

they must have fixed the listing, it used to say 9v battery option. That's the problem with copy/paste.

Sweetwater still didn't get the memo.
