I have a GT100 which I bought second hand, and I can’t help but feel it is a bit of a noisey amp when it comes to interference?

I can hear the TAP button causing noise, and tonight I could hear a beep repeating itself every 6-10 seconds?!? With nothing plugged in she is silent, but the moment you connect a guitar it’s humming a treat!

I am using a Modern Player Tele through it and the background humm is consistent across all pickups.

Anybody have any pointers?

Try unplugging the footswitch when u hear the delay ticking and also take note when it happens....are u standing on it? When i am standing on the FS cable mine ticks but stops as soon as i take my foot off. See if it stops when u unplug it and then if it does check whether u r standing on it when it does that or where it's routed and if it is near anything that could act as an antenna like your body does when u step on it. Also try the amp in different wall sockets in different rooms. Could be there just something causing the various noises thats coming thru the wiring were it's plugged in. And if the issues persist try the noise reduction on all settings from low to high and if it helps choose the lowest setting that works. Finally, do you have pedals or anything plugged into the front end of the loop? Remove everything but the guitar and see if it helps and if so try plugging the things back in one at a time to find the offending device. These amps like anything digital CAN and sometimes will pick up noise, and thats normal. A LOT of noise is usually going to mean theres something around the amp or in the house wiring that the amp is picking up and unless you find what it is it will not stop.

Oh, and if u have another and different guitar cable, try it. Could be that one is not shielded well either by design or wear.

Getting closer to figuring out the beep at least, it's my bloomin RoboMow! The wire in the garden has a constant beep sent round it, it's like a communication signal for the mower.....
