Is there any information on wether or not the fender tone app for the LT50 will also run on the LT25. That would be a game changer. To have the extra customization on a $150 amp would make it one of the most desirable at home amps out there.

"The all-new cabinet design is more gig-ready and durable"

Still no reinforced corners.

Go to the fender site....none of the 50s style cabs like the GTX style, whether the modern type like hot rods or tweed reissues have metal corners. In fact, MOST fenders don't. Even among their BF reissues only about 1/2 or less have them and only on the bottom. Only one i saw was the super.

I’m wondering is the new Tone 3.0 desktop app for the Lt50 will work with the Lt25. Does anyone have this info??

Yes, I'm aware and I consider that a bad decision. Takes away nothing from the looks of any amp IMO.

So if & when they give us the GTX "upgrade" on the GT...that means we get to keep our own patches, right?

From a thread in Bass Amplifiers - I'm guessing the same should apply to our (pre-GTX) GT guitar amps:

I'm very happy to report that Tom Bowlus, of Bass Gear Magazine, consulted his Fender sources on this subject and has confirmed, on another forum, that the new Fender TONE 3.0 App will, indeed be available to upgrade the Rumble Stage & Studio firmware giving them several new effects and functionality with the new 7-button footswitch!

This is good news for Rumble Stage & Studio owners from last week's Winter NAMM 2020. While it's not quite new amps, like the new Mustang amps, it is some new functionality for existing amps, which is what the WiFi connectivity has promised.

Thank you, Fender. Thankyewverymuch! :-)
.

I have a GT-40 and a Rumble Studio 40 - new amp models/effects, use of Tone 3.0 and the new foot-switch as an option would make me happy.

Sure, tele! Just use the current TONE App to backup to your account in the cloud before the upgrade. Then, after the upgrade, restore 'em from your account. Here's instructions for the current App: https://tone-support.fender.com/hc/en-u ... -setlists-

The restore, after the upgrade might be a little different than with the current App. But, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

PS: Hope y'all don't mind this Rumble Studio 40 user piggybacking on your thread here. Just found out that we get the new Fender TONE 3.0 App upgrade, too! :D

Usually updates have no effect on your current patches. They should not change them or lose them at all. But like above, if u want to be safe u can do a save then restore if something should happen. But it never has on mine. My patches always stay. The only time u lose them is by doing a restore.

Sounds like the new 7 button footswitch will also work on the GT's which is pretty nice as well. Continuing to support the old products as far as they can push them definitely makes you more willing to buy the new goods. If the dropout issue is fixed on the new firmware I'll be one happy mofo. I am not 100% that my unit is dropping due to internal connection issue at this point. Its been very erratic but GTX is sounding quite nice. Before you know it we'll need a mustang swapup program like with iphones haha :D

That's great...cuz i remember going from the old mustangs to the Gt, I lost all the patches I had saved on Fuse...
So the only substantial difference as far as I can tell is the cabinet ("tuned" a little differently than the GT)?

Well yeah, but thats a whole different ball game. The old mustang and GT are totally different amps with totally different firmware and the GT doesn't even use fuse. The GT and GTX are the same amp aside from the new cabinet, speaker tweaks, (supposedly) and hopefully hardware fixes to ensure the dropout and other issues are gone. So updating the GT to the GTX firmware is no different than any of te previous GT updates.

New amp/effects models being supported on the existing GT's is honestly something I wasn't expecting being its been so long without an update. Also making the new 7 button work on the GT's is a nice touch as well. So another firmware update to the GT line is just great news overall. Now, if this firmware fixes the dropouts caused by searching BT/WIFI I am going to be pretty damn happy for sure. Tone 3.0 looks pretty sweet but was really hoping for a way to control amp from the PC.

The biggest thing I am worried about is the things on the YT videos have actually be misunderstood. After watching all of them available though this is the info I came up with from shops speaking to Rick H.

I don't think they mention the expression pedal, so I guess that means the new GTX doesn't support it, but I hope that doesn't mean they will remove the functionality from the old GT line.

Also wondering if the new footswitch will work with the expression pedal on the old GTs, and if the footswitch buttons will be configurable on a preset by preset basis as long asked for.

It's "supported" because in some of the namm videos it shows the footwsitch connected to the EXP. The reason for the quotes around the word supported is the GT supported it too supposedly, but it's so buggy it's almost unusable. So the EXP is supported as much as it was with the GT, but the question is did they fix the issues with it in firmware.
