Hi,
I play classical guitar, decided to buy a MiM Strat and a GT40, and learn some rock stuff!
I don't have money for an acoustic guitar. I wonder if GT40 has a good acoustic simulator?? I understand no acoustic simulation will be as good as real acoustic guitar, but I need something okay to play around with and maybe record few simple songs.
How about an acoustic simulator pedal with this amp? Anybody has experience?
Thank you

Hi...there is an acoustic simulator built into the amp as a prsent, which is pretty decent...but not nylon sounding like the classical.
You could search the app for more or play around with the settings to alter accordingly to find the sound you want

Thank you.
Can you please tell me what is the name of that preset? I have reviewed YouTube videos that play all presets on this amp, but have not heard this one.

Sure. In my GT40 preset #6 is called Basic Acoustic Sim. This was *New* in Firmware Version 2.0.25, Base Version 1.1.3. If you cant see it you may need to upgrade your firmware. Its very easy to do and you can find instructions here: https://tone-support.fender.com/hc/en-u ... 5003516523

I think there are others available to download to the amp from the Fender Tone app.

Its description states "Six distinctive acoustic guitar simulations for transforming electric guitar with great-sounding acoustic tone. Paired with Acoustasonic preamp for additional tone shaping".

Thank you so much for your reply.

I don't have an amp yet, I plan to buy one.
Actually I'm contemplating between Mustang GT and Katana 50. What is appealing about Mustang is the variety of tones and patches available through the community. One reservation I have is there are some negative reviews (both on web and YouTube) regarding muffled/boxy sound by Mustang. Any comments??

I cant comment on other reviews, i read lots of reviews myself before i traded my old Line 6 Spider Jam and bought a Blackstar...hated it and returned it for a Boss Katana, which sounded good, but was fiddly and returned that for the GT40 which i love. Mines sounds great, and i have read others have had issues with theirs...I have used mine for a year now, almost daily, and have not had one problem. I think its a great little amp and plenty for me

The “muffled/boxy sound” question has been answered in your other thread - in summary, it’s not correct.
