This thread WAS about accessing presets online with my GT100, but I am rewiriting the original subject title and this post to clarify and home in on the exact issue i am having.

I was going to sell my GT100 a while back so I deleted the password. Now that i decided to keep it i wanted to try uploading some patches only to find my wifi no longer works and i then recalled I had deleted the password. So i tried to re-enter it but it will not work. It shows my network and i even did a rescan and it found it again. But i still cannot enter my password and here's why. When you are in the password field the top layer button that usually says "back" next to it on the LCD is supposed to turn from the word back to "done". And thats so when you have entered the password you hit done to save it. My problem is mine does NOT change to "done" when i am in the password field. It still says back and if i hit it when done entering the password it just goes back tot he last page and doesn't save it. I have tried everything and cannot get it to say done as shown in the instructions on fender support page. Any ideas?

Turnsd out while it says it;s connected when i go to wifi, it's not. So i rescan and it finds the same network listed b4 i rescanned and i go to enter a password but when i do theres no way to enter it once it's typed in. I look at the the online instructions and it shows theres the word "done" next to the top layer button that u r supposed to hit after entering the password to save it. But on mine it says "back" instead of "done" and that doesn't work to save the password. And no other button saves it. Maybe it's for V1 and fender never updated the instructions?

Oh, and the V2 manual doesn't even mention how to setup wifi, and it shows everything that u CAN do with wifi once its working via the tone app, not on the amp. Seriously fender? I don't have a compatible phone so i can't even see how to do things one i do get wifi working assuming i can? You gotta be kidding me ! Never ends with this thing.

If the back button doesn't change to Done, you've missed a step. Have you pressed connect? Have you entered the case sensitive letters?
The Cloud presets section of the manual indicate that the password is a one time thing. It says that once you have logged in, you stay logged in and don't need another password. You indicated you tried this once a long time ago. Maybe you don't need the password. Just go there.

Yes, i pressed connect then password and entered the PW which is not case sensitive in my case because it's all numbers. The reason i have to enter it is because at one point i was going to sell the amp and thought it best to delete the password. I have also tried "forget" and modify". No joy.

Wow, another wierd bug. The patch it was on when i was trying to do this is 8. Now for some reason patch 8 is in yellow. That is, the patch number at the top of the LCD is usually blue and turns to red when you change any setting. Then if you hit save it turns blue again. Well, patch 8 is yellow and if i change a setting it turns red like usual, but save it and it goes back to yellow ! Go to another patch then back to 8, still yellow. Save patch 8 to a different location (saved it to 30 something) and the saved copy is blue as usual. Save that one back to 8, yellow ! This amp is the buggiest piece of digital anything i have ever encountered. I could write a huge book on what i have been thru since i bought it the day it hit the showroom in early 2017. And if i haven't mentioned it yet, i am on V2. I updated it soon as that version was available and a bit later was going to sell it when i deleted the PW.

EDIT: another wacky thing.....if i set the amp to any patch besides 8 then turn the amp off and back on, it is back on 8 when it comes back up !!! AND still yellow ! W-------------T------------------F ?!!!!! And i can't do a complete restore since i can't connect.

Yellow means it's in your favourites. Press and hold the select knob for a few seconds to remove it. (Feature added in v2, IIRC.)

Thanks, got it. Now back to the original issue. I'm going to rewrite the original post to clarify since i now see the issue more clearly and simply.

Did you try just pressing the save button after typing in the password? (The actual physical button with SAVE written on it.)

Yes. I tried everything. If you look at fender's instructions on this page... https://tone-support.fender.com/hc/en-u ... gital-amp-

Then go down to #9 and look at the pic where the password is to be entered. See how it says "done" in the LCD next to the top layer button? Notice how in all the other pages NOT where u enter the password it says "back"? Well, mine never changes to "done" so there's no way to save the PW. The real question here is why is it not changing to done. Is my amp bugged or am i missing something.

I just tried it on my GT40. It doesn't say "done" at all (I'm pretty sure they changed the way text is input between v1 and v2), and then I hit the SAVE button and it just saved it. Not sure what else to suggest.

I'll be damned, you're right ! I see now that the time i tried that it just goes back to the previous screen so i didn't think it worked. But this time i noticed "connect" was lit up. That's what i missed. Thanks for that.

However, now i'm back at the original issue which is when i go to the "set up amp" page on the tone site, it says to enter the code it shows on my amp under the cloud presets page in the menu. When i go there it just says "check internet". No way to enter a code and it's apparently telling me it can't find internet access. Yet my wifi shows my network name and has that green dot next to it that signifies it's connected. Hmmm...

You're 2 for 2 now scoopy....care to go for 3?

Ahh ha!! Nevermind....restarted and it works.
Anyone care to tell me how to upload a few presets, or is that possible without a phone and tone app? I see nothing on the amp under cloud presets except to download presets, nothing about uploading them.

I also get the "check internet" message, I thought the problem was at my end but I guess Fender are having issues. Try again later. (ETA:. I see you did!)

FUN FACT: While trying (in vain) to fix this problem, I tried re-entering my wifi password, and discovered in v2 Fender have REDUCED the number of characters it allows you to enter for your password to fewer characters than my existing wifi password has. Luckily I hit "back" and it kept the password as I had entered it before I updated to v2, which it now won't let me enter. Well done Fender!

I saw it right after I posted, hence the ETA (edited to add).

Glad you got it working.
