I think they're done with it. Too many issues, many of which are hardware issues. So if i had to wager i'd say they are working on a new mustang to fix the many things people have been complaining about that can only be fixed with new hardware. At least i HOPE that's he case. They got the modeling right, so IMO there's a lot of potential to make it the #1 modeling combo if they do the right things in a new mustang model.

Weirdly, Fender have released several updates to the Tone app recently, including one just now. They've all been marked as "This update includes minor bug fixes and general stability improvements." I hardly use the app, so I can't really say if the updates have had any noticeable affect.

You'd think Fender would be better off fixing the amp before they even think about touching the app.

While I've not really had any major hardware problems, I'm pretty sure the jumpy select knob is at least partly due to oxidation (and made worse by software problems and hardware limitations).

When I've not used the select knob for a while, it definitely seems worse. Turn one click clockwise to get to the next preset, and instead it jumps back twenty or so presets (that's happened quite a few times to me). If I turn the knob rapidly backwards and forwards for a bit it seems to clean up the contacts and becomes much less jumpy.

The software acceleration for the knob (apparently to address complaints that the knob is too slow when adjusting settings), seems to make the problem worse. Though Fender dialled back the acceleration in an update, so its not quite as bad as it was for a while.

Also, it gets even worse when the amp slows down, particularly when playing audio over Bluetooth, which causes the GUI to slow to a crawl. (The amp's processor seems to be pushed right to the limit, or Fender need to optimize their code better.)

Likewise, some people probably got rear-ended in early model Pintos and the car didn't explode.

There have been at least 2 problems that sure sound hardware related:

1. Sound "cutting out"
2. Footswitch problems

All the same "maybe they'll fix it in the next version" talk happened at the end of v1/v2. I really hope they do fix it, but again, I'll watch and see what happens. GT sure didn't convince me.

For amp updates, I'd say that the gig is over, mates.

About four months ago I couldn't take it anymore and traded my GT200 in for an expensive modeler and FRFR setup. Not a fair comparison and I won't try to make one, but I was done with messing around.

Oddly, my old GDEC 3-30 is still in my basement and gets used all the time when I'm testing adjustments to my guitars.

Good luck!

I'm waiting for the next upgrade because "tap tempo" function works only for delay e not for tremolo (for example) as I asked a long time a go. The Global tempo setting doesn't work for my GT200. Had anyone the same problem?

How do u know they didn't just intend it to only work on delay? I don't think its common that they'd have it to control all modulation functions too. So if u r looking for that to change with an update, unless u know for a fact it's a bug and not intended, your chances of them changing that are nil unless a ton of people are asking for the same thing. They don't change things unless they are getting a hell of a lot of requests for the same thing. There are other issues at least if not more important they haven't bothered with either. So i wouldn't get your hopes up unless your request is one of VERY many.

Actually tap does work with tremolo (at least with vintage tremolo). I just tried it with a preset I made which has both tremolo and delay (both disabled by default), and both changed when I tapped out a new tempo. I tried both tapping with the tap button on the amp and with the footswitch, and it worked both ways. My tap is set to global. (I'm using a gt40, but I don't see why it wouldn't also work on the other models.)

I think I've figured out what is going...

I have vintage tremolo set to 1/16 note divisions. When the division setting is set to anything except off tap will control tremolo (and presumably any other timed settings set up likewise), when it is set to off tap does not work.
