I have a Mustang GT 40. When I play some notes, I hear a rattle/scratchy/buzzy/vibration type sound. It mainly occurs if I play a C or C# on the 6th, 5th, or 4th strings. It is also evident but not as pronounced if I play an F on those strings. Any suggestions for correcting this problem?

It has been happening for a while, and I wasn't for sure if it was the amp or my guitar. I finally had a chance to try my guitar in another amp, and I didn't have any issues. I also tried another guitar with my amp and the same types of sounds occurred. It is like something about the frequencies of those notes are causing an issue with the speaker.

I use the amp for practice at home. It has rarely even been moved within my house. I did move it as a test (put on carpet floor in center of room), but still the same issue. I mainly practice/play with clean tones and keep the master volume at just a tick above 50%.

Thanks,

Matt
