I wish I could save a effects settings from one patch and use in another patch. And some included basic presets with each effect would be a nice starting point.

You can sorta save effects in a sense. If you mean you like the way one presets effects are already and you just want to use with another amp. Just open the preset with everything you like and switch to amp. Then swap out the amp for another one you want to try. All your effects will not change then just use Save As and make a new preset with same effects and different amp.

As for some presets on effects that sounds like a nifty idea honestly. I mean the joy of playing with the effects is kind of learning how things are effected in different areas of the chain etc. There are a plethora of recommendations for pedals with a little googling. Like the always obvious one which is add the greenbox in front of an amp. Then max level, zero out gain, and put tone around 7-8, and blend to choosing (I max it most times). This is a well known tube screamer setting and works great when the amp is set to right around breaking up.

Some great ideas on how to use certain pedals on That Pedal Show on YT.
