Hello,
I have the mustang gt40 and I want a footswitch. The mgt4 I think it's too expensive for the gt40, because it's an amp to gig only at home. If I go to play with friends I need de 100w minimum. So I would have to buy another amp.
So, does anyone know if there is a cheap footswitch for this amp?
Thanks a lot!

No, it's a switching circuit thats proprietary, not a simple mechanical switch. So no generic options. Look for a used one and you may get lucky. It also allows looping so that may be worthwhile 2 u at home.

I did not want to pay $80 for the GT foot switch. That's a ~1/3 of the cost of my GT 40.

So I picked up the MS4 footswitch new for about $50 (on the largest store online) and then got the magnetic overlay. https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=108209 It works great.

Thats the same switch that just has different text since it came out for the old mustang and yes, u can get it cheaper. But there are no alternatives to using the fender switch. I think he;s looking at the possibility of a cheap generic mechanical switch which is not an option.
