I love my GT 100. Since the last Firmware the GT 100 is good. And my EXP-1 is very good to play in Bedroom volume.

Weird, I hadn't recently been getting E-mail notifications of new posts or new replies on the GT board (the only board I am subscribed to, as I have a GT 40) - consider this a TEST...

well 15 users is more than I thought. I guess y'all are too busy playing to post. Has anyone made any demos? I'd love to hear what the new model sounds like in Audacity.

If you could take away all the bad press and if the GT was just released, with the current versions, how much better would it be received? I think it is a good product, just released too soon...

Been lurking on the forum lately but this is my first post. I recently received a replacement GT100 to replace my coveted III V2. I was very concerned with the new GT being able to keep up with the V2. I was very impressed with the GT and wondering why everyone was giving it such bad marks. Now soon as I got my GT I upgraded the unit immediately to the latest firmware. I did play a min or two on the initial release it shipped with but not long. Even with the original firmware it sounded very good and much more natural than the V2.

Now don't get me wrong the V2 is a killer amp and have absolutely loved that amp for several years now. However, the GT series just sounds quite a bit better imho. I also read up on the new GT and found out about the global EQ etc so was aware how to get the sound I was looking for. I think if the amp was released now it would be right up there with the katana or better imo. I really was wanting to get a boss unit but when I finally found a local shop (1hr away) to play one was unimpressed.

I am really looking forward to the 2.0 release. Looking forward to chat with you all more when it finally releases. Hoping to see some great sounds you all have come up with :D

they do beta testing. Maybe they didn't pick the right people (hint, hint).

I'm still around once in a while. I haven't used my GT200 in several months, especially when I started getting corrupted preset issues (that I posted about in a previous thread). I guess I'll give it one last chance with the v2 software and sell it if I'm still not digging it.

The next update is supposed to give you the ability to upload all presets to the cloud simultaneously (make a full backup). Maybe that will mitigate the issue with scrambled presets. It would be cool if you could make more than one backup set like the old model.

I have done a full back up with the software upgrade. It does work!

question riffy, can you ...

1. create a backup of your presets

2. make a bunch of changes to your presets

3. create a second backup with the new changes

4. restore the first backup

Or does it only make one backup at a time?

I have to be honest. I have not tried that yet! So I truly don't know. I will have to ask. I don't want to destroy my gigging presets and setlists I have now.

It has been confirmed for me, that yes, you can have multiple different backups! And restore any of them at any time!

I've had my GT40 a little over a year, really like the sounds and effects. The Tone app has been a big disappointment. Some features are simply broken -- uploaded Tones are a mess -- and others are cumbersome to use -- for example, it takes way too many + or - taps to increment or decrement a delay time. And despite being a primitive app, it no longer works on iOS 9.

I agree. The Tone App is useless and more of a hindrance than an asset. The only thing it's good for is switching presets from a distance. It never should have been released the way it was, and over a year later it still barely functions. Very disappointing.

If they were trying to lure the millennial generation in with that thing it would be a complete failure. Thankfully for Fender, most of them (millennials) have moved on to iPad amp sims and don't even bother with physical amp hardware :)

that's actually huge news. With the old model Mustang amps, it sure came in handy. You play with multiple bands? No problem, restore the backup for the band you're working with tonight. Want a full set of presets for home use and another set optimized for live use? No problem.

Can you share a full backup with other users? that would be another cool feature. "Hey check out ALL my presets, just as they are on my amp".
