Hello,

I plugged a USB adapter into the gt40 and into my very fast i7 Lenovo laptop. I use a similar configuration for a Boss GT-1 and Line6 POD HD500x. I am able to play back videos from youbube and the guitar at the same time. There is no latency with these devices. The GT-40 though has tremendous latency. Even if I disconnect the usb and use bluetooth there is way more than an acceptable amount of latency. Has anybody else ran into this. It makes the amp very useless at this point. I just hope it is some setting somewhere. Otherwise, I think I will sell it since the audio portion never seems to work with Bluetooth (even from a note 8 android phone it skips and pops) or usb.

Want to make sure I understand - you’re plugging a USB-to-3.5mm audio adapter into the 3.5mm jack on the GT40 and a USB port on the laptop, and then playing audio from the laptop through the GT40? And with this setup, you have audio latency?

If I’ve sussed out your meaning correctly, then have you tried playing back from another source into the GT40 3.5mm jack? Can you connect your phone to the 3.5mm jack and see if you have the same issue? I play YouTube on my Retina iPad Mini with the audio connected from its headphone jack to the GT40 3.5mm jack all the time, with no perceptible latency. Same for using apps like GarageBand, AmpliTube, Capo, etc. I’m having a hard time seeing how the problem as described could be on the GT40 side of things.

For the described BT setup...well, duh! Playing BT audio from the laptop (or phone) and expecting the video and audio to sync is unrealistic, to say the least, no matter what BT speaker you are using.

Anyway, hope you can try a wired connection from another device and see what happens.

Hi, so what I think you are wanting to do is essentially use the GT40 as a USB audio interface correct? Playback the music from your PC via USB while playing along? Unfortunately, that will not work. The USB audio is output only, which I know is frustrating and honestly stupid if you ask me. I did the same setup with my GT-1 and my Helix and it works great, but the GT isn't set up to do that. I'm not sure why are you are getting that latency with Bluetooth unless you happen to still have the USB active at the same time? I pair with my phone all the time for playback and it's never been an issue. Do you have the Fender USB driver installed?

Here's just about everything Fender says about the GT USB interface.
