Had a Spider V 60 for a few days and will now be selling the GT40!
Clean tones as good and dirty is better. Ability to create new tones via app or amp is way superior to the GT. fender need to sort out a decent app quickly.
I know the Spider V has mixed reviews but I for one much prefer it as a stand alone, does everything home practice amp.

Line 6 gets a bad rap and I really don't know why. Internet mob mentality I suppose. The loudest voices against have typically been high gain/metal players and that's not me. At that price range there are always going to be some compromises, but there's also a lot of choices and there's literally something for everyone. I have had several Line 6 products and they all worked really well for me. I was using the Amplifi 30 before I went back to the GT40. There were some things I liked better about the GT, but I use my Line 6 Helix every day for recording.

Bottom line, glad you find something that works for you. Enjoy your new amp!!

I tried the software Helix plugin demo, and was very impressed
by the sound. Had it been $100 instead of $400, I would have bought it.
I did splurge @ $150 on BlueCat Axiom at the introductory price,
a brilliant and deep package also containing their Destructor and
Late Replies plugins, fully integrated. Sounds great from the GT preamp model.

I've been watching for a steal on a low-end Spider V just to use
with the computer editor, not having been promised a competing
editor for my GT (yet)
Cheers
