Having problem setting up my ESP 1 pedal. I got the volume part OK but can not get the wah or crybaby to work. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong. Have it selected in a preset and set to pedal but when I work the pedal get a funny noise , nothing like a wah sound.

Pedal Wah - 65 Twin - Mono Delay - Large plate.
Mono large plate are bypassed.
#24 Basic Delay.
mix 2.5 ?
Pedal 10.0
Heel 3.0
Toe 10.0
Babe's crying.
Still no crybaby sound. Every time I test to see if it's working when I go back to the amp the 24 is red . I hit save again test and it turns red again. Every time I press the pedal save red goes on.

With all the talk of problems with the 6 button switch, my exp-1 was far worse. The LEDs were always wonky thru all the udates and it has issues. However, mine DID work as a wah so not sure why yours doesn't. I have katana now so my GT is in mothballs but off the top of my head, once you have chosen the pedal wah in the preset, (NOT "touch wah" go to the footswitch>exp-1 settings and make sure global is set so heel is all the way down and toe all the way up. Then go to the preset settings and make sure you have chosen pedal wah in the blue box by scrolling the data wheel. EXP mode set to "amp fx". And as you say u already did, heel and toe should be as i said to set the global. The rest i don't recall but i think within what i said might be where you made a mistake, especially in the blue box which must be set to pedal wah or it won't affect the wah at all when u use the red setting on the pedal.

Thank you for the reply . Still no wah , seems like red and green both work the volume on the pedal. If I touch the pedal the preset number turns red and my phone says to save. I tried preset and global , nether one work.

I just tried it going right to the amp , not through the MGT 4 pedal. Still the same, touch the ESP 1 and it goes into save mode . Preset number turns red and phone says save.

I am doing something wrong but what. The volume part works .
Would the mix setting change thing's . Deleted wah tried fuzz setting , still nothing. I think I have a bad pedal.

I think i realize what u r doing wrong but i will pull mine out and tell u how everything is set if i'm worng about this. But first tell me if you are doing this.....after you choose the wah in the preset are you not only setting the settings below it but ALSO GOING TO THE MENU BUTTON? Because the settings you see in the preset are only part of it. There are other settings like that one i mentioned above referring to a blue box in the menu under footswitch>EXP-1. Did you hit the menu biutton and go there? If not, thats your problem and my above post will tell u what to do. If you already went there, tell me and i'll pull mine out and tell you exactly how i have it set. But if you haven't done that then thats the problem.

Ok, heres my settings:
In the amp model preset i choose pedal wah and thee settings:
mix: noon
heel all the way down
toe all the way up

menu>footswitch>exp1>preset settings:
use data wheel to scroll to pedal wah in the blue box then click data wheel down to the settings and...
volume: volume
exp: ampFX
parameter: pedal
heel:n all the way down
toe: all the way up
live: off
bypass: on
default: volume

Hit save to be safe and try it. That works for me.

Ok thank you. I got wah now. Had to change in the EXP 1 settings. I would like it a bit stronger, any tips oh own to do that. Don't understand why every time I touch the pedal I have to save again because the preset number turns red and I get save on my phone.

No, u do NO have to save ! ANY setting you change on anything not just the wah makes it turn red. It's not telling you to save, it's telling you that some setting has been changed. Just turn the treble knob or anything and it will turn red. It's just nothing more then the amp telling you a setting has been changed but NOT saved. Then you can save it if you want too, but you do not have to. So do not hit save when it turns red unless u have made some change you want to save. And with the wah function you never will want to save just because you moved the pedal. Only save that when you manually have gone in and turned a setting to get it more how u want it.

As to making it stronger, try playing with the "mix" setting in the wah settings in the amp model, not the menu. Also try different wah types there instead of just the cry baby, as some of them are stronger than others or have different frequency range.

And i forgot.....try it both before and after th amp model. Very different sounds. Typically most want it before as thats traditionally the sound. But in back it will be have more affect but you may have to adjust the mix or it may do TOO much.

How can I tell if it's my pedal or the amp that's not giving me the wah sound. Can I get a wah sound from my GT 100 with out the pedal .

Just go back to my post with the settings, and once you get it again save it and don't hit save on that patch anymore !
As to no pedal, you can use the auto wah effect that will add more or less wah with picking strength.
