Just picked up my new GT-100 and am amazed at the features. Good thing I'm a retired computer geek and not intimidated by firmware updates etc. Anyway, just a couple general questions: I'd like to experiment with custom settings but don't want to disturb the originals. Guess I just save them above #100 and work on them from there? And I know this might be a dumb question but is there any risk with low level bass playing? For 50 years I've been taught that bass amps (speakers) are required for bass playing but with so many bass amp patches in the GT-100, it's tempting to plug in my P-Bass. Thanks. Bill

You can always limit your bass playing to headphones,
to protect the guitar speaker. Might be more fun
than playing the bass quietly. New speakers don't cost much,
I wouldn't worry, worst case scenario you'll find a better speaker anyway.

After you're familiar with the stock presets, jot down the ones
that are throwaways, if you need more than the ones above 100.
Cheers

I don't suppose you have a PA at your disposal?

If you do ... connect both XLR outs to 2 channels on your PA. If it's a stereo PA, pan the channels left and right. Then turn the MASTER all the way down on the amp (mute the internal speaker). Plug in the bass and enjoy (no need to limit your volume now).

This is a GT200, but the GT100 has XLR outs too:

For your other question, just make a backup of the amp. Oh wait. That's right. There is no way to back up a Fender Mustang GT amp. For that you'd have to downgrade.
