I Fronzy,

No. What I say is that if you select Sbmp-Delay-Reverb (one of the 4 choices), the 1st button controls the Stombox (Overdrive for ex), the 2d one controls the Delay and the 3rd one controls the Reverb.
You can alos select Stmp-Mod-Reverb or Stmp-Mod-Delay.
The original option "1st" is always available : following the order of the effect in the chain.

I just say I can't have Stmp-sustain-Reverb. Except with the Original option (1st) and the effects in this order.

I can't also used 2 Overdrive and assign them to 2 different buttons; except at new with the original option (1st)

The choice is alos done for all preset, not on by one.

I had prefred to be able to specify which effect will be control by which button preset/preset.

May be in a future firmware ?

But I use Stmp-Del-Reverb in 95% of my preset. In fzct, just Stmp-(Nothing)-Reverb. Then it works for me

Here is my theory on modeling amps.
I think when they started taking off 10 or so years ago the tech and goals were huge and actually being attained. I think modeling was getting "too" good that they were cutting into their tube amp sales in many companies. It was getting too "real" and posed a threat to their standard amps so they started to dumb down the model amps and make they cheaper in all ways and market them to kids and bedroom players to give them a less serious appeal psychologically.

Vox and fender both have done this in model products from my experience.

The roland/boss stuff fluctuates but they really dont have major tube amps to compete with of their own so they have an open market with modeling and can release cheap crap and high end stuff and get away with the various price points.

Line 6 is the same and dropped the dt seties and spider valves because they sounded better then their modeling without tube in the backend power section and this wasnt their goal likely. Helix is getting a gui major update in the next 6 months and they will load up helix till they release a new version within 2 years i expect. This is a nice job by line 6 to expand on 1 unit so much and so long(what 4 yrs now?)-i commend them on this direction for sure to make a product stay alive so long. Fractal too keeps this thinking going which is great but neith have a decent all in one model amp! yea spider iv dorsnt qualify to me as decent. The stereo largest new spider is ok but not mind blowing as it really should be in 2018. But this too is by design to allow for helix users to buy the power cab thingy and drop another $800 bones. yikes!!!!

I am not ready to part with my $$$ untill an AMP wows me to the core. Had the helix and returned it. Had the katana and liked it but sold to fund the artist and returned it as it was to midrangey and boomy for me and in retrospect too expensive for what it is(resale on it too is not good for future sales i was thinking because you know we all seem to upgrade sooner or later anyhow)

I have kept amps i knew were poor resale units because they sound great still to my ears and even compared to new modeling stuff i have bought-compared and returned or sold asap.

I await the future of products but dont expect much.
the yamaha thr100 was a joke to me for the $$$.Why didnt they just release a thr30/60/100 in the same format(combo-stereo) as the thr10 but larger????? lame

The new h&k spirit thing with i bet a nutube in it looks like a step in the right direction but no stereo combo or head??? forget it. And h&k is always overpriced for what you get and service from them sucks.

The vox nutube mv150 is a joke too. Overpriced and not stereo combo as well and no effects except a meh reverb. pASS...

The blackstar id260 i have is a fun stereo amp with alot of tones and very versatile. the footswitch sucks and it needs to be revamped but i think beats a katana all days of the week.

When i was gigging i used my pt100 amp but since sold it as it was just more then i need now that i dont gig out.

I also await the next fractal ax floor unit and hope cliff learned that users want a headphone out and usb audio in a floor unit and a WAY BETTER GUI THEN A 1990'S GREEN cheap looking display!>

Fender cybertwin se was the bomb and still sounds good but was not perfect of course but the effects in it were above par. The concept was cool but complicated. Editor was promised but never came and no updates(i think 1 to fix bugs) they moved to the mustang which i bought and returned ver 1 and ver 2 after bringing home to try for 2 weeks each. Then the gt200. too small cabinet to get good stereo seperation and cheaply made with poor components. Too bad! The screen is the best part on the amp because at least its better then the mustang screen but hey it should be in 2018.!

I also use a korg kronos board and its a joy to work with with the nice huge touchscreen and i remember using a yamaha motif that sounded good but was hell to get around on on its tiny screen.

Its 2019 almost and we should expect to have they highest tech on these amps and if you do make a model amp with effects just make it stereo for the players enjoyment and to showcase some awesome effects if you claim them to be so great.

So i am on the sidelines now-not in a hurry as my older spidervalve mk2/cybertwin se/id260/vox advtx amps and my zoom g5n have more then enough to offer.

....so I can create "complex" patches in addition to the simpler basic tones u get from a tube amp
I would love to hear a recording one of those "complex" patches that could never exist on a tube amp. I'm guessing you mean a tube amp without the aid of any additional effects?

Exactly...

Also, I never said that complex patches could never exist on tube amps...obviously they do...what I meant was that using tube amps, effects-wise, u are usually very limited...plus u get basically one amp sound, albeit, one with lots of different "colors" thru EQ, etc.

OTOH, transistor/modelling amps nowadays give u a plethora of amp models & effects, but I still find myself more or less limited to very few sounds (+ effects) which I would consider useable....because when u start out with a tone that is "lacking", adding in effects, while sometimes effective in improving the tone, in most cases just makes the sound even worse, unless I use the effects sparingly...

well, no such thing with the GT....I got me lots of amp models/cabs, which sound great....and because the basic tones are so good...it really helps when using all the various effects available....so I can try more complicated effects chains & combos without it sounding shrill, or muddy, or weird...

now if I could only back up my own presets and my footswitch could be "revived", I'd be one satisfied customer....

i wonder if the gt sounds ok at bedroom levels but live with a band its not so good?

conkhi i purchased gt40 for bedroom and it fits the bill perfectly - totally thrilled. upgraded from a "gifted" peavy backstage amp which i totally recommend for "real" beginner beginners (LOL) like me.
