After 1 year waiting for improvments, I am going back to my old rig, leaving Mustang GT.
Why :
Seems that there is no true interest of Fender for Mustang GT
No important update and Fender is not taking into account of customer's feedback
Lack of some important fuctionalities like backup/restore and choice to assign an effect to a button of the footswitch
    Lack of sound during rehearsal
Footswitch loose control on the amp without any reason. After a restart, this is reworking
    And so on

As summary, I am not confident for using it during a concert.

I think that I am not alone.
It is pitty because Fender Amp are normally great.

I was convinced that Fender will release a big firmware update. But they are more interested in Guitar Online course than providing what we want. No news, no true update. With the reported problems about the 2 last update, I don't do them.

Brad, if you are not a robot, can you advice Fender management that it is not a good practice and that you loose supporters.

I'm right there with you. I bought the GT when it came out and I sure wish I would have returned the amp within the grace period but we were getting all kinds of promises from Fender on this forum so I waited. Silly me. I'm sure Brad's hands are tied and he's got to play the politician in all this but it's pretty simple....actions speak louder than words.

I'm very happy with my GT-100, but I don't use pedals, loopers and very rarely the iPad app. In use the vintage tremolo or tape echo effects with a Princeton or Twin Reverb amp setting. I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a Princeton Reverb and a GT-100 in a blind test. I had to get rid of my Twin Reverb because it was too heavy for me.

I think my Fender GT100 is a nice small & light, but powerful amp with some good Fender clean sounds. That is the main reason I purchased mine. But I do also agree that Fender really needs to make right on their advertising claims. Fix the the remaining problems with this amp before trying to unleash another on us. If it does not work with an Android running the recommended OS, then that sounds like false advertising to me.
And basic functions like being able to back up your work, should be a no brainier. Come on Fender, do right by the folks that buy your products.

Hey Guys!

I am one of Fender's local beta testers and I can ensure you that there are a lot of improvements being made on these platforms and some really cool new patches coming. I have been beta testing for Fender for many years and am currently working on a couple platforms. Can't give you much more info on that but I think you will be pleased when you get the new updates once they are released.

Albie D shows up 2 weeks ago, makes 2 posts (both defending Fender. same exact post copied and pasted to 2 threads) and disappears into the night. Yep, seems legit. I wonder when those "updates" are coming. The amp line isn't even a year old, right?

Fender Silent = Fender resignation = Disinterest of Fender for his followers . They are more interested in selling lessons to musicians who will play for up to 2 years than giving musicians what they want. Tou is lost. Gibson bankrupt. Fender will soon be DJ turntables for supposedly stay in.
I console myself with my rig: Fender Blues Deluxe 90s, Gibson ES335 of the same time with no other effect than the Spring Reverb and the 2nd channel of the amp.

Wow, toxic much?

Yes, I find it frustrating that Fender does not understand or chooses not to use a highly transparent public social product roadmap. (like slack or trello or even MS Teams) Fender does the internal monolithic top-down "you get what we make when we release it" type of roadmap. (Like most older companies) I would love to see the two-year roadmap of projected features and new models.

I doubt they will bring out a GT 2 in the next 12 months. The GT is still selling well (according to Fender) and it costs a pile of money to bring out a new revision.

It does not look like Fender will be giving us monthly updates with lots of new toys or fixing playlists or fixing the issues some people have with pedals.

I would suggest looking at it this way, you spent up to $599 (GT 200) on an amp that is really impressive for the price. Use it for what it is. If you want something like helix or kemper or a Hot Rod DeVille go buy one.

Well look at it this way - would they make more money releasing updates for Mustang GT than they would selling you a whole new amp (GT2)?

Based on the accumulative cost of manufacturing changes, hardware changes, software development, Q&A testing FCC/UL (and others) testing approval, marketing costs for new product, not to mention the large outlay of cash to build up a GT 2 in the supply chain and the question of what to do the the current GT that is in the supply chain, I would say "releasing updates for Mustang GT" would make Fender a lot more money right now.

In order for Fender to bring out a GT 2, I can't see how it would be less than a one year process from start to finish. If we use that estimate, then Fender would have needed to start the planning process for the GT 2 in the middle of their launch campaign of the GT.

I can't see how Fender will not ride this Mustang for at least two years.

Also, as I look back I see that Fender has had some level of backward compatible support for their products. I just learned today that Fuse worked on not only both Mustang V1 and V2, but also on the G-DEC, bronco and Super Champ. Tone seems to use the patches / preset from Fuse, so I would guess that they are in the same format. I doubt it, but Fender could be in a position to release a software product that could support all of the amps fuse supported and the GT. Heck, they are still selling the Mustang I (V.2), with software that can't be installed on most new computers, so maybe that is not too far off.
