I do not know if you're like me, but I'm disappointed with the latest firmware update. Since early October, nothing and then a pseudo-update. I am not interested in bluetooth or downloading presets in the community. I am interested in more user-friendliness. Among the most important:
* Ability to assign any effect to any footswitch button. And no, this direct assignment of 3 first effects to 3 buttons.
* Ability to assign an effect to the expression pedal more easily
* Save and reload presets on a PC
* Backup and Restore
I despaired of an update; Fender seeming more concerned about the online lessons that send us spams and that do not interest me at all than to evolve a promising product.
Only positive point is the arrival of the equivalent Bass Mustang. Sign that Fender seems to believe it.
But hey, in the meantime we have concerts to give and features that are missing. By dint of waiting, I will probably return to my old rig and resell my mustang.
If like me, you want fender move and come with a real firmware update, let it know.
Without this being mandatory, I would also like to have a simulation of the Fender Blues Deluxe (but not the reissue). I would then totally find the sound I like. Especially, if it comes with an improved Spring Reverb.

Hoping that Fender will hear us

I agree completely with you on items 1, 3 and 4 (I don’t have an expressions pedal). I’ve been asking for the last 2 features from the very beginning. I keep hoping they will address these requests, but after so many months waiting, I’m not optimistic.

I agree with you on all items and another item is the "tap tempo function" for tremolo, flanger, ecc... and not only for delay.
Hey Fender, your customers are not happy!!

Fine. I am not alone ;-)
I also request the 4 functionalities from the beginning.

It seems that we will have to wait to have a true Firmware update, Fender is trying to correct Version 1.6.32 (March 6, 2018) problems with Version 1.6.36 (March 21, 2018) : problems belonging to bluetoohth, to Tone.
I don't care.
When will we have true functionalities ?

I'm an IT manager. I know what is the cycle for software improvement. I know that right software is conducted by a roadmap. Fender is then able to communicate this road map. If not, we just have to state that Fender doesn't have control on the evolution of the Mustang and then to go to another rig.

If like me, you don't care about Tone, Bluetooth, Fender Play, please say it to Fender.
We need an amp that can be use during concert, actually it is only usable at home...

I think that Fender can, but I begin to think that they don't want.

I think that you are probably correct here. I have said it before in this forum. If the GT amps were too good, people wouldn't buy the more expensive ones. If a $300 amp can sound the same as a $1500 amp, who would buy the expensive one? If you are lining-out or micing-up a GT to a PA or using it in a recording situation where people won't laugh at you, what is the point of buying an expensive Fender amp? I have had expensive Fender amps, yes, the are loud and sound good but with my eyes closed in my living room, I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between my GT 100 and a Twin Reverb on a slightly tweaked simulation of that amp. Yes, you can always have 'more' - 'Hey Siri, switch to Basic '65 Twin'. Sure there are some things that could be better but try looking at what you already have – that is a lot for the money!

Keep in mind, at some point they will stop using your suggestions as update requests and start building the next line of amps they will sell you.

They use the missing features from this amp to motivate you to buy the new model. That's what they did with the v1/v2 amps. Fender staff started a thread asking for our "wishlist" of feature requests. Nothing was updated in the firmware and instead, they used that info to develop Mustang GT.

Fender sought to be trendy, rather than practical,
but the trendy part has been dismal in use, and the practical
features people always wanted/expected, and have asked for,
are not a Fender priority.

According to Brad, sales are still good enough,
and I extrapolate from that fact, that the core amp function
is of value, despite the let-downs of the trendy stuff.
It appears that there is little or no pressure from the bean-counter-in-chief,
to invest in satisfying user requests for the practical capabilities
and hands-on improvements being requested.

For example, Line 5.999 have a nice free computer editor app
for their Spider V series amps, so one of their used V amps
will likely arrive here, long before Fender does anything to address
that need for Mustang owners.

The software for the Line 5.99999 Amplifi range is everything that Fender Tone should have been, and was available a year or two earlier. I have an AmpliFi FX100 pedal board and it is a treat to use – but I don't use pedal boards since I got my GT100.

Yes may be. But in that case, it is more interesting to work with a pedal floor. Before GT, I worked with Digitech RP-360 XP that was fine with great amp simulations (Fender also). I go to Mustang GT to have all in one : amp and pedalboard; but it seems that this was a mistake.

And no reaction from Fender. May be also that Brad is a robot ?

well that's pretty much what you got. Between the EXP-1 and the footswitch, you have a lot more options and flexibility than your average SS amp, all in one box.

Just don't think development will last forever. They will eventually move on to a new "improved" amp. It hasn't even been a year, so there will hopefully be some more firmware updates for your amp before they move on.
