EDIT: I changes the post title so as not to create confusion, but i thought it would be good to have a bug thread on the new firmware because i have found 2 so far. This way fender has a place they can see what issues people have experienced with it. Below in red is my initial post with the first bug i found when i started this thread, but today i found another. That would be the quick access footswitching is buggy. I think it's done a couple wierd things but the most apparent is when i chose some new QA presets the 3rd button would not work. I could only switch between QA 1&2. This was intermittent and did work at times.

Anyone else notice this? When editing a patch where i have delay on, the delay goes off by itself. I can be editing the main tone knobs on the amp and the delay just stops working. Happened twice so far and i think it must be the new firmware because it's never happened before. Not sure if it only happens if editing because it's only been out a few days and i haven't played it that much. So it potentially could happen while playing for all i know.

Hi, I just tried editing a few of my GT40 presets that have delay in them but didn't notice anything going wrong. The delays still kept sounding as they are supposed to.
Once thing to mention since the firmware update is that on my MGT-4 footswitch the 'undo' function of the looper hardly ever wants to work...!

I don't think that issue (looper undo) is tied to the last update because mine has the same issue and always has since long ago. Doesn't bother me because i rarely use it, but i think the root cause is not tied to the latest update but the update may have triggered it. You might try doing a forced update. That reloads the same update thats already in the amp and can sometimes overwrite whatever is causing it. To do it you hold the data button and middle layer button down for 5 seconds while turning the amp on. The various update/restore functions are shown near the end of the PDF manual.

As to the delay issue u tried to recreate, it only does it now and then. Only twice on mine. So just doing a edit or 2 isn't likely to cause it.

Amp related issues

- "Unstable presets": sometimes when i turn on the amp, my presets sound different than usual...though not necessarily different in terms of their set parameter values, mind you...just their sound...mostly "dynamics-related" differences....things like gain, sag, etc....I've verified this by making duplicate copies of my presets, which sounded different than the original versions on different occassions...very strange

- Several of the reverbs are not in stereo, at least when listening with headphones...room & hall variations are the only ones in stereo...would make sense to have, for instance, ambient or arena be in stereo as well...Right now U can have stereo ouput by placing one of the other stereo effects such as stereo delay after the reverb in the signal chain.

- That being said, sometimes even some of the stereo effects are in mono! Not sure how this all translates to when using 2 amps or PA

- takes forever to change some parameters "manually", delay time, for example....applies equally to both the encoder on the amp and the +/- in the Tone app....

These are Tone app-related:

- Often BT plays my audio automatically when a connection is found...even though I've assigned the master volume to control its output, it's still quite a jolt when this happens...

- BT dropouts occur enough times to warrant mention here...perhaps, these occur when the amp and tone app have some sync'ing issues...More often than not, I have to restart my cellphone to fix this or I won't be able to use the tone app...

- need to be able to change effects modules via tone without having to delete it first...and then adding a new one

- often when changing amps or maybe even other modules on a given preset using tone, the new amp appears with all parameters set on "all the way up", e.g. gain 10, volume 10, treble 10....and so on...ditto with say a distortion pedal or what have you...gain full, volume full, tone full....would be nice to have those initial settings at a more useable level...or halfway...

Below are issues related to the foot pedal:

- Biggest problem for me with the 4-button pedal is the proximity of the switches...not at all comfortable or practical for stage use...but that's not something that u can fix via software updates obviously...on the previous generation the included 2-button pedal solved this problem...the current 3 presets per bank setup is again just not practical for quick changes during a live set...

-We need a "2 button solution".

-I'm thinking, given the physical layout, maybe the bank up/down function (i.e. simultaneously pressing on 2 buttons) could be made to perform the same function as the 2-button switch on the previous mustangs....since it would be easier to hit 2 buttons instead of one, unless you're playing barefoot or something

-Also make it so that by holding down the bank up/down a little longer would be like having a bank of 10 presets...advancing presets 10 at a time either up or down depending....

- Looper needs an "auto start recording" feature...

What follows are "forum-related" improvements, which would actually help with the amp's functionality:

- There's no way to backup your own patches...other than by posting & sharing it on the tone forum...this was possible with Fuse

- I believe u can't always delete your shared presets by yourself unless u get in touch with a forum moderator or something to that effect, which is a hassle

- Also, any further edits/improvements to one's own presets on the forum, can't be applied to the existing preset(s) (by the same name)...there's no edit feature...so u need to create an entirely new preset in order to update your preset...

Tone app-related:

When auditioning Tone community presets, if you go into the settings screen for that specific preset and then return to the list of presets, the app will randomly return to the top of the list of presets, rather than where you left off.
