I have a few suggested feature/effects that would be cool:

1) A high gain metal stompbox

2) Add a wet/dry blend parameter to the Phase 90.

3) Add a harmonizer/detune modulation effect. I'm thinking 5150 here...

4) Create a new "ProtoAmp" amplifier that contains parameters that allow the user to dial their own distortion growl & grit characteristics.

I really want a rotary speaker option. And a Klone would be nice (the clean boost isn't quite there).

I'd like to see a rotary too. There are many vibe type options now, but they all sound like ^%@$ when you really try and use them in a band context. They;re impossible to dial in w/o screwing up the tone. A real sounding rotary AND a chorus that also sounds right, like a CE2 and truly as good or close. They all tend to be ok if not for the way they mess with the tone. I even try putting them pre and post and neither way works well. I say rather than have a zillion mediocre effects like this amp does, give us a handful of the most important ones that are very good. It seems like they have shoved a huge quantity of effects in this thing with little regard to QUALITY. The effects quality just doesn't match the modeling quality. I don't mean to sound angry but theres no way to say it w/o sounding so. It's just the truth. Quality, not quantity please.

But my biggest request and the one i think is important to everyone and not just me is a way to assign each of the 3 buttons in the effects on/off to whichever effect you want. the way it is now button 1 is for the first effect in the chain, button 2 for the second and 3 for the third. This disallows the all important effects order and the ability to control the ones you need to. You can either arrange it so the effects are not in the order you want them but you are able to switch the ones you want on and off, or you can have it so that they are in the order you want but you can't switch the ones you want to be able to. It's a very flawed system.

One i think is very necassary and another major flaw is firmware updating. It should be like the old amp, but if they want to leave it wifi they should at the very least incorporate a way to choose the version you want. Because like i said in another post, if you update and find it changed something you dislike, possibly even to the point of selling the amp, well......you can see where i'm going. We should be able to use the firmware we like.

I think another one that would potentially make great tone incredibly easier to achieve would be cab morphing. I don't expect that would ever happen and have no idea if it would be a easy firmware tweak or not, but i believe if it did it would be huge. Cabs are the #1 thing that allows you to get what you want tonally and can completely change a amps tone and response. Yet often you find a couple cabs that you like but somewhere in between the 2 is what you know would be perfect. For example, i like the GB 412 and the twin cabs more then any others, but neither is perfect and i think something between those 2 sounds would make my best tone i get from the GT considerably better. It IMO has the potential to dial in a tone much closer then it is capable of right now.

I could think of many more tweaks that would be fabulous, but at $400 for the GT100 i can't and don't expect them all, not to mention some would no doubt be unnecessary for most players and only desirable to me and a small % of others. I do think the effects order/switching thing however is a flaw at any $ range and should be fixed.

I won't go into the cab and speakers, but ya'll know how i feel about that by now. But gimmie that and the effects order/switching thing and i'll buy the V2 and i swear i'll shut my mouth and never say another word.

I agree this is a much needed feature. For example, I often have a compressor and an EQ early in my chain and it is essentially a waste to have them assigned to 2 of the 3 buttons.

Do I believe ? I Well, i never thought there would 100% either way but hoped there might be and became quite optimistic after reading tele-de-fender's post in another thread....

Luckily, and quite by fluke, I guess, I happen to have been in touch with a couple people on their development team quite extensively....as such, I remain optimistic.....

Circle early March on your calendars :)

If true we'll know soon enough.

Modelling of the fender bass breaker amps - would love to set my GT100 up side by by side with my BB15 and compare.
Would also be useful to know the GT100 could fill in for the BB15 should a valve fail at a gig.

My wish list:
1) Please fix Fender Tone app for Android!
2) Make a system to backup and save our pre-sets...
3) Keep your community informed, as to future updates in development or the discontinuing of them.

I think we're past the part where they update what you bought and instead move towards developing the next thing you're going to buy. From this point forward, they will fix major problems, but don't expect any new features. That is my guess anyway.

Hello fellow Fender Mustang Owners!

I am one of Fender's local beta testers and wanted to let you know that there are a lot of new effects/amp models coming. I am testing several platforms and I think you will be pleased with the new models. My job as a beta tester is to "break" the software and verify fixes after the pre-release updates are verified. I have owned and/or beta tested almost every Fender amp with digital processors since the Cyber-Twin was is development.

Keep the faith! A lot of very cool things are coming your way in the upcoming updates!

Albie D

That's brilliant news Albie! I'm still really enjoying my GT-40 and more amps/effects would be fantastic :D
Thanks for the update!

for the GT-40:

A windows/Mac graphical modeling application the the Mustang has

Common to Android and iPad apps
o Better stability.
o Multiple select of presets for deletion, moving, etc.
o A better way to move presets then scrolling each one separately through many screens to get them where you need them.
o New and duplicated presets with an option of what location to put them
o Bluetooth streaming and amp preset connections without crashing app and needing to reload
o When changing presets, the volume and other control show 10 even though you put them in a particular state. They don't show the real value unless you exit edit mode and get back in.

iPad app:

o Make a true iPad app designed for the screen, not an iPad app designed for the iPhone
o Allow it to change orientation
o Improved stability

Android app:
o lack of crashing!
