Anybody have better luck with the existing wah wah sounds (which sound pretty anemic) to me. Any tips to make them better? Any patches on-line? Yes, I am using the expression pedal......

By anemic, do you mean "thin" sounding, or do you mean you're not hearing a strong sweep from bass to treble?

I've been using wah pedals since they first came out back in the '60s. The original ones from Vox and ColorSound used germanium transistors and inductors and had a satisfyingly strong sweep and very useful 'barks' when parked in the middle position - al la Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Modern wahs try to emulate this sound without the inductors and fail miserably. I haven't heard a decent wah from any modern multi-effects pedal and the GT fit's in with those.

Thanks for the replies. By anemic I do mean thin. I also wonder why there are no adjustments for Q and sweep frequency, etc.

do you have a sample of the sound you're going for?

The Mustang Wah seems to be modeled after a standard VOX wah. It's a good sound, but not for everything. For heavy/distorted sounds I would lean towards a Morley or similar, and for funky rhythms, I prefer a Crybaby.
