I loved the last update BIG time, I mean it literally saved me from selling the amp, and made me decide to keep it for my band and live shows for now " I have a Radial Jx2 switchbone that has the GT in A, and a Orange crush 35rt in the B slot, I love the rig I have now". Its perfect for a musician on a budget that isn't to the level of dumping outrageous amounts of cash on gear. If my current band takes off then I will most likely go back to tubes amp but I LOVE running an ABY pedal and having two amps. I just for me think that's the way to go either just amp switching or like I do use Y channel for clean an get one big lovely sound an use the crushes high gain for songs that call for it. The Eqs of the last update really did great things for this amp, I think it changed a lot of views on it. Well, for those willing to try again an know their way around the amp. I think the sound with each update is something that doesn't get listed in the update list we get when there is a new one out, but has gotten better each update. I am not tech savy enough to know if that's actually possible, to effect the sound through firmware updates making it better with each update, and I suppose it could just be me. But from where this amp started to where its at now its def like a whole other amp. Still not a tubed amp no, but it can come so close that if you need to save cash and are a gigging musician, one of these with a decent small high gain amp can do plenty of lushes tones. I personally don't mind the ts9 type of distortion on the amp, but anything much higher gain is where I feel the amp sounds more digital vs its other tones but that could be my pickiness im sure someone could dial in the Orange crush amp I have on the GT and get it close to it, I just feel personally it lacks a little. But it leaves me to wonder what is next for this amp and when? hopefully a way to save our presets offline would be helpful!!!

One reason to get the GT is to have less wiring on stage.

I hope the next update will allow to tap tempo by pedalboard for tremolo, ecc.. e not only for delay (if it's in chain e turned off) . Just like Mustang V2.

That's a pretty good idea to update the tap tempo, that would be really helpful. Right now it kinda sucks cause the Tablet I have will disconnect from the Bluetooth still after awhile of it not being used and then I have to go through the process of connecting the tablet to amp, then go to the app an connect there as well. I wish my device would just hook up to it and stay hooked up it. I cant really blame the tone app cause I guess it could be my tablet but other things stay connected to it. So maybe there is something in the coming updates that can be done to continue making the BT connection solid. Im nervous to put more pedals in my chain then the pedal can handle cause trusting the app to turn on an off pedals at the right time is risky. Right now I haven't tested the tablet live but imagine if the BT connection gets better I can trust the app an put more pedals in one chain instead of the same preset basically repeated with one effect different in each preset, cause unfortunately the I use a compressor and the onboard Ts9 first in the chain which takes up two buttons leaving only one slot for mod pedals, and I use mostly cleans on the GT maybe a little light distortion with the onboard ts9 but not much gain so I feel the compressor is needed in most my presets to get that great staccato feel or flip it and get that warm creamy tone where all the notes can be heard I guess I could do away with the Ts9 in some patches but then no boost and that only opens up one more button.

A cool new feature ideas ive heard before on this forum was letting the user choose which get assigned to the switches regardless of order on the chain. Cause we all know certain effects always go before pre-amps and mod pedals an other always go after, so being able to assign which pedal you want to whatever button regardless of order would be pretty helpful! or the device just quits dropping the BT connection, I tend to lean toward the app not being the greatest at Bluetooth connection and being the issue cause compared to the beginning the app holds the connection much longer an connects much easier. So hopefully more can be done to help that until the app is better I will have to keep duplicating presets with different FX so that way its the pedal during a show running it not the APP, cant get myself to trust the app like that quite yet.

I do see your point at getting a GT for less wires, which is one of the main reasons I keep it an continue to play live with it instead of getting a Hot Rod or Blues Jr cause so many GREAT Fx on this thing. I use the other small amp to have a nice dry clean signal and have the GT with the effect and with the Y setting it sounds pretty amazing, I just felt like the GT by itself couldn't get me all that I needed on stage but it comes close so and the FX especially the mod Fx I think are great digital really got those ones down. I think the high gain is where the amp shows its digital colors so to speak, especially when cranked over 3/4 the way up on the amp. I thought the high gain sounded really high chimy and hollow. I played the orange crush amps the 35rt and loved it. Its hard to believe its not tubed. The cleans are solid and the clean channel takes my real TS9 pedal amazing but the crunch channel is just a much more thick an low compressed distortion I like. It is a little more wires on stage but I only use the Radial Tonebone Jx2 ABY, TS9, Crybaby wah, on my board. I also run the channel switcher and flashback delay through the oranges FX loop. I wanted to be able to have some modulation to come out of the orange by itself so I got the flashback delay since it can be a chorus and delay of sorts. So I don't have many more wires, the GTs biggest perk is having all those fx and me not having to have a huge board and wire all these effects up. I think I have created a relatively cheap rig that can produce some real quality tones. Unless you can spend +$1000 on mesa boogies or whatever, I think this is the way to go, especially for me, cause I play jam music and rely on all different types of tones. Until my band is sponcered or popular enough for me to afford the real pro amps im pretty happy with my rig. Id say this way is better then having a hot rod or something cause the GT can get damn close to the tone of a real tubed amp, no its not better then tubed, but with all the fx, lack of time spent on a rack getting tubes or something fixed all the time, the weight not being 100lbs, and the price it seems like the smarter thing to do until you know you are going to make a living as musician full time an can afford the big pro combos.

I cant decide if I wana drop money into the GT and swap the speakers the reviews ive read of people that did seemed to be overly happy with the results.
