If you are running firmware version v1.3.5 (or higher) no action is required (though you’ll probably want to update to firmware 1.5.20 anyway, just for the improvements and additional effects that it provides).

If you have a version lower than v1.3.5, we highly recommend you perform an update (TODAY!!) to v1.5.20 so that you can continue to receive updates via Wi-Fi!

What is the beancounters guess as to the number
of unsold amps that are pre V 1.3.5?
Very few, quite a few, almost all? If a few hundred amps are sold
for Christmas gifts, is there a plan for customer service on
Tuesday Dec. 26th?

I'm assuming a skilled beancounter can extrapolate

# amps built, unshipped as of yet
# amps shipped to distributors
# amps distributed to stores
#amps sold
#amps not yet updated
#amps updated more than once
#amps returned to point of purchase

and make informed suggestions that will
minimize service costs, and maximize Fender's good reputation.
Cheers

Already addressed for the vast majority of amps in the field. That said, for anyone who does manage to slip through the cracks, the Patch Utility approach detailed here will be the key:

Not an emergency by any stretch, just kind of a pain for folks so we're trying to minimize said pain.

That's good to know. Is there a cmos battery on the circuitboard
that can give enough power to do the wi-fi update without
actually powering on the rest of the amp? That would be some cool tech!
Cheers

I just got a brand new GT100, with 1.0.8--the patch utility just spins and spins for hours. Never updates. I need help.
