I’ve put this up before but I wanted to recheck how people are adapting to these new brilliant EQs and much like what another user on this forum mentioned even though the update doesn’t let it, the sound overall has been much much better.. even the distortion is now starting to get a real nice tube feel..... I wish the my amp the GT100 would sound like it does on my headphone when I play live... when I have my headphones on an playing around my god! All the tones seem perfect it makes me wonder why I would ever need any other amp Again... but after unplugging my really nice set of phones and having to turn up live at An unmicd Show, the GT can’t quite replicate what I hear in my headphones. If only!!!! It’s perfect as I’m sitting here really walking through all the new stuff, and I’ve always said each update even though they don’t mention it being an update, the sound authenticity has risen dramatically. If the amp sounded all the time like it did through nice set of headphone WOW
But I will say when I’m micd An can plug in straight to the PA with the XLR outputs in the pack I don’t have to turn the amp up as loud An there is where the sweet spot is for the GT, in others posts I’ve mentiones I picked up a orange crush 35rt the reissue of the crush Dlx series they just redid the hardware and put probably the best transistors for a solid state amp I’ve herd “yet” in such a small amp the 35 Watts is LOUD it keeps up with the GT not all the way but when the GT starts to get louder then the Crush then that’s pretty close where the nasty muddy part comes in the GT... I got the orange amp to run two amp live either With an Radial tone bone ABY pedal and it’s a frickn amazing little pedal scored it used for $120! The crush was and is used for my higher gain songs.. I play jam band stuff so blues, reggae, rock, pychadelic stuff, so heavy gain is huge need for me I use to love metal but jsut grew out of it for me but I always wanted an orange amp, they usually run to heavy with them tubes plus the thunderous speaker they put in them it would be to much gain for me live “ even though at home I would have fun” the crush is solid state so it’s a lot more chill you can get the metal out of it but you can also dial in some really nice rock tones, the GT is actually getting better toward distortion.. I’m still happy I got the orange when I Y thm together and have the effects coming out of the Gt while orange is clean “cuz the gt effects will NOT play through on a Y channel of a ABY pedal of the other amp. I did find a way to tinker to where I could have my A channel be both amps clean “which is such an amazing loud creamy tone” the GT leads the the way the orange jsut supports it’s almost to perfect for me an my amatute band status right now. The Gt can really jsut about pump out the tone of the crush but the speaker orange uses in its amps is a beast... but I will say the GT is becoming more an more “real feeling”

I know the stigma trust me... luckily this amp doesn’t quite look like a fender amp An soem people. Don’t see the decal so I don’t have to head that trolling on the amp cuz if I were to yank that fender decal off, people be like where is this amp being sold at! Must have! Lol... professionally speaking if I had roadies an money An stuff I prob wouldn’t deal with the GT I would have one as a backup amp no doubt hopefully I don’t have to sell this one in order to make my next big purchase cause it’s a wonderful grab An go rehearsal amp, i wasnted To see if anyone else is using the GT for live shows frequently... I know I know... it’s hard to say publicly... we play digital amps live blah blah.... but hey... our ears can’t trick us.. no this isn’t a stadium show quality amp, any pro band isn’t guna Be playing a gt anywhere anytime soon. But if you just like to jam with buddies, or stay local, or I feel even for amateurs bands running the prestigious bar scenes... this amp can hold up if you can work it right... budget musicians like myself am pretty happy I held onto the Gt till now the Eqs made all the difference in the world... I think I’ll be happy with my Gt for while doing gigs at bars playing the covers ya know how it goes for starting bands... but if you play in a bar scenes an turn your nose up to the gt, you are missing out.... they still have work to do but since I’ve owned this amp since the beginning I can really say this sounds like. Whole new amp then what I started with...

How’s it working for anyone else gigging with it? Hopefully I’m not the only one?

I keep my chain simple An not that we can re order the presets I try not an put more stomps then switches which is very few... it’s my one big complaint I’ve had since the start and I don’t see changing unfortunately. I wish we could have one of those midi pedal or something to really get the most out of this amp... I don’t own a iPad or tablet, and my phone is to small to risk hitting the wrong thing with my finger. Hopefully someone gets creative An cracks the code to use the midi pedal with these... sorry if that’s bad but we need more options with all the mustang offers I mean how can we utilize eveything wih three buttons for stomps!

Try the GT combo and effects send jacks into a high quality clean power amp, connected to
a variety of FRFR cabs. That's the closest you'll get
to placing what you hear in headphones, on stage. Then make all your presets
on your chosen amp/cab setup.

Here's some related food for thought, some of whichwhich you might transpose to your
specific situations:

Of course, your $ound per Dollar ratio will be much better!

Cheers
