Even with all of the recent firmware and Android Tone app updates, I continue to have issues with the app "scrambling" my presets. Just to be clear, I have the latest version of the Tone app (1.5.1) and the latest firmware release (1.4.21).

By scramble, I mean that the Tone app is renaming my presets. Some names are duplicated and some are lost. In addition, I also believe it is changing various settings within a preset. (I'm going to start keeping more detailed notes to verify this.) As an example though, I had a preset that included an Overdrive effect that was saved with the Overdrive bypassed. After my last use of the Tone app, this preset had been renamed (now having the same name as the preset that was 3 higher than it) and while the signal chain is the same, the Overdrive is now enabled.

I see others reporting a similar experience in the comment section for the Tone app in the Google Play store. I haven't heard of any solutions though. (Other than don't use the app.)

I've had the same things happen. So far as I've tested, Preset Title overwriting and moving presets only seems to occur if I spin the Encoder dial quickly when using the Tone App. The Tone app can't seem to keep up with loading each patch and that seems to cause issues. Since I upgraded to v1.5 I don't quickly spin the Encoder and also give the "Loading" message some time to settle out. So far that's seems to work for me. I'm using an Alcatel 30 with Android 7. Compared to other amps I've used, the GT100 is fighting me every inch of the way but it does sound great everywhere I use it and it has some features I love so the battle goes on.

Thanks for the info and also the tip about spinning the encoder dial too quickly while connected to the Tone app.

When you experienced this issue, did you notice whether just the names were messed up or whether actual settings within the preset were also modified?

The posts about this issue in the Google Play store comments for the Tone app asked for users to start a case with Fender support. I did that and received this as a reply, "... the scrambled presets, the designers are aware of that and are working on a fix."

I've only noticed overwriting Patch Names and overwriting positions so far but that's bad enough.

This happened to me yesterday...AFTER the update to Android app 1.6 and amp firmware 1.5.20. It was the first time I had experienced this and it was VERY frustrating.

jakecentric, I still have the issue as well. I hope Fender resolves this issue in a future app or firmware update.
