So im really stuck between moving on back to a tubed amp or getting the new speaker for the Mustang gt, I really like the mustang and versatility even with the crap speaker I like the fender patches I use a real ts9 stomp which gives it some real feel, but that's with heaphones on and at low volumes. Like most say the louder you turn up in rehershal setting or whatever the tightness low end punch disappears and then thing out it seems like just becomes loud and flat. If I am halfway okay with the amp sound now, will a speaker really bring that much of a noticeable difference as most are saying?? even at low volumes? if it can help like that much to make it sound better I think I may stick with the mustang instead of new amp cause I cant really tell you what amp I would even want. The versatility of the gt spoiled me what tubed amp is there that can give you fender cleans, good blues distortion, and then a punchy crunchy tight high gain tone similar to an orange amp like right below metal

Well I liked the tones with the original speaker.
But the upgrade to a wgs et has made a significant improvement that suits my tastes and preferences.
Like oczad, there's nothing that would tempt me to go back to the original.
I play at moderate volume at home, and I noticed the improvement immediately.
My pedals sounded better too.
I also own a 212 Boss Katana 100, and it was being played more than the GT, before I put the wgs in. Not now! It really took it to a new level for me.
Win, win for me. Just great, and with the improvement in Android connectivity I'm really happy!

Well, I think I have to make the commitment an upgrade the speaker... I've done tons of research an thought about it... If im trying to keep the GT in my rig for awhile, the speaker swap seems worth it... i mean i was already decently happy with it with all the imperfection but after hearing an reading positive reviews of people changing out the speaker it's almost like must it seems like.... so it's a matter of which speaker to go with... what would you say the one you picked up is doing for your sound... I see a lot of the people liking WGS Et 90. I've read it's got nice tight low end An mids... would you say that's about right? How are patches like orange amp sounding now with the new speaker?

Also does it still sound decent when streaming or using the headphones on the amp? Idc if it sounds prestine for backing track I would never sacrifice guitar tone for that EVER but I would like to know how is it

I think I'm pulling the trigger on the speaker I can't choose on an amp
I wnt anyway im to use to the versatility of the mustang I looked an other gigging combo amps on a budget around 1000 and I still can't decide what would satisfy me I want fender cleans, solid fender distorion
But then i wna be able to have that orange punchy crunch distortion not metal but maybe one notch or two below so unless I can afford two amps "not happening" maybe swapping the speakers will be the answer
TO all my prayers if it's helping that much!

No, swapping the speaker is not the answer. A 'tone' is a combination of amplifier, cabinet and speaker working in harmony. If you don't like the sound you are getting, don't throw good money after bad. Go to a guitar store and try other amps with your own guitar, there are lots to choose from. Don't rush it. That is the only way you can nail the sound that you are after. (Cheap) Modelling amps are okay up to a point, but do you know any professional musicians that use them? In the end, you get what you pay for.

Here's the real question tho in my head.. I'm getting a orange crush cr35... and I do like the the Mustang gt sound.. I really do all it's features save money the headphones ability to the auxillary for backing tracks blue tooth idc really... im wondering really really wondering if a new speaker would please me enough to keeps this amp...
Other wise I'm looking at buying like
An orange for practice an small gigs with another fender like a bassbreaker or blues jr tubes...

Now I know a speaker will NOt make this amp sound like a tubed amp I am not that naive but being as I'm a beginning constantly gigging musician i really am curious if the speaker can get it sounding atleast as good as the III cuz you see people still saying get the the III for a solid gigging amp An practice... I think adding the crush for my high gain songs will work... An maybe the mustang gt 100 for the cleans An the slightly overdrive blues feel I like the gts software a lot after coming home after playing the solid state orange An doing more research and seeing how much people give those speakers praise for the sound I really wonder will speaker give me the nudge to keep this amp for a while longer...

I look at it this way I need a practice amp, for home at night I work second so I can find plug in head set play to some jam tracks An what not the USB recording straight to a DAW to is nice... I think the cheaper avenue would be new speaker An eq pedal... for those have changed their speaker is it safe to say this amp becomes more like the III with the fullness and bassy features that's the one thing everyone kept saying when we came back from GC to play my Gt the sound was there it was Clean an nice it just didn't have the warm bassy feeling the solid state orange did... an im really wondering after reading a couple articles if the speaker would make me happier then buying the orange An then having to trade this in an buy a blues jr, or bassbreaker ya know... no the mustang won't sound as good as those but if it's close then it's worth it.... I'm so lost I mean I know I'm ordering the orange ct35 that thing is great An it's perfect for me it's what I've always wanted a dialed down orange less aggressiveness.... but the hard part is to decide count my losses trade in Gt shell out 5-600 for a solid tubbed fender clean a decent dirty Channel amp An run the orange for high gain An my practice amp........ or fix the speaker get eq pedal...... from those of you who did this swap? Have you tried other amps since or done Live shows with the new speaker did it give the amp more life? Like loud but still full? Espsiclly on low end of things? I'm so stuck on what move to make cuz the gt we all know could have a better name then it does... If the speaker swap makes this thing sound like the stang III guitar tone an volume wise I know the programming will do the rest An make this amp An badass amp..I know most amps that have guitar speakers in them
Already swapping those out you might not hear a difference but it seems like we are dealing with a really horrible guitar tone quality speaker in the stang?? Am I right

Sorry for long posts guys just trying to figure out my best route as Im
On a budget And want my rig to sound good in the mix amongst other rigs... there were some readings I found that really said most underestimate the great tone An sound that can come out of a speaker swap and what we gota Remebenr is we are dealing with a way worse speaker then most.. guitar tone speaking wise... if I put a solid speaker in An got the eq pedal could I get quality tones out of it.. or is it a waste An shoud I just move on...

I know you four aren't me
But know I love the stang gt through headphones if it could sound like that all the time wow I have a really nice pair but man which made me think a speaker would help I know it'll never match tubed that's okay with me but will it come close to being respectable big tone for live shows? That's my big question god I wish I knew soemoen personally so I could
Hear the diffence I've read on other forums veterans an you can tell they know their stuff that said new speaker An I'll be happy..

I love tubed amps but after hearing the crush only 35 watts An how tubed it sounded an how dynamic
It was it'll be a matter of time
Before solid state maybe modeling are right up with tubes..

Sssooo speaker swappers im
On the edge And I need to make
A choice for my live rig for fender patches an zeppelin type stuff will
A new speaker give me
Quality punch or is it a lost cause?

Is there places I can call that may help explaine more what I can expect with a speaker swap with the mustang gt in particular I think that's important for the person I'm asking to know that cuz this isn't a full blown speaker amp at all... I'm not knowledable to know how much more of a difference a high quality one would make here but I would like to know more before i trade it in An have to buy pedal an all that again....
