Oczad, do you use the EXP for Volume control and how often do you connect/unconnect it? When you experienced the volume issues was the MGT footswitch and EXP connected or not. I'm not having any issues at all with volume but I can cause some if I play around with the EXP settings and if the EXP is connected or not. I'm still testing the EXP settings, there's so many available in the GT. (the ATT Wi-Fi thing sounds legit so far but that one seems firmware fixable to me).
haven't used the EXP for months, plus i have the global volume pedal's heel and toe both set to 10 and the preset setting are set to off for both the exp and volume modes. Just using the 4 button FS. Tried wiggling all connections while it did it to to see if a bad jack or cable. It's not tho as proven by the fact upon restart it's gone.

Just trying to narrow down things where my settings are different since I've never had any Volume problem. Agree with EXP settings Vol & Exp set to OFF. I wouldn't set Heel to 10 since the firmware Designer might not have expected that. Then they don't test for it and could miss some odd unintended interactions although I'd agree there's not much of a chance of Heel value being a problem. I think you mentioned you use the new EQs effects for volume boost using the MGT. I don't use the EQ effects in any of my Live Band patches so check if those are in the chain when things go South. For Live Band amps I stick with 65TWIN, 57TWIN,65Deluxe, and Super-Sonic. I only use the MGT PATCHES Mode and not the EFFECTS Mode or looper/Tuner (love my much maligned Tronical Tune) so that could be another piece of the puzzle. I have a Day 1 release GT so it's got to be the oldest design out there. Good Luck, I feel your pain

Did it again tonite so i may try a reset, tho the problem with that is i'll have to get a cable if i dont already have the proper one, then D/L some app and do a update that way as described by fender a couple months ago. So i'm debating whether to try that or just buy a different amp like the katana. Really tired of all the issues this amp has had, and i'm living off SS at this point and can't afford to shitcan this amp i paid $400 for. Not happy fender.

Brand new GT100. Updated the firmware right away. I noticed the sound cutting out every 15 minutes or so, so I checked this forum and saw the post about the AT&T router. I have U-Verse, so I disabled the wifi and so it hasn't cut out.

Ok, did a couple resets and have played the hell out of it since and it seems to have stopped. I have to knock on wood because you never know, but this is the longest it's gone by far so i think it's good....crossing fingers. Whew ! I was really unhappy because the amp sounds great and the last thing i need at this point is to have to go buy something else and go thru that endless amp "dating" routine again. That can be more frustrating and expensive than dating women.

I got my GT40 last week and updated to 1.6.37. I thought this software issue was meant to be resolved.
I used it with the WIFI left on and it was fine for 3 days.

Past 4 days the sound keeps cutting out, even with the WIFI off. Anyone else experiencing this?

I noticed that sometimes, strumming hard a couple of times helps the sound come back up, not sure if this is consistent with what you guys are experiencing?

Have the same problem on a brand new GT 40. Seems like an intermittent fault of the guitar input.
Have 30 days free return. Should I send it back?

Same issue as all those described above. GT-40. I can play for about 10 -15, then sound cuts out on attack, and returns. Have done all the suggestions here: multiple chords tried; two different guitars; turned wi-fi off, etc. Frustrating....

I've also got the GT-40 and experience the same sound cut out issues posted. Tried a lot of things you shared here to fix it, thanks but i too just can't get it to work. I requested an rma from fender since i bought it less than a year ago, will let you know how that goes. It's a great little amp, I really hope they could fix this with an update. I might try a voltage regulator with it.

Created an account to post this. I bought a mustang gt40 amp 5 months ago and have also been experiencing this problem. I can be playing fine for quite a while and then the sound will start dropping out. It is definitely the amp as I have tried it with multiple guitars and cables. It is not an issue with att routers as I am in Australia. It tends to happen more often the longer the amp has been on. I am on the latest firmware. This is extremely annoying as I quite like the amp except for this issue. Would be good to see a future firmware update fix this issue as I don't want to have to return it.

Solved my problem with sound cut off and can reproduce fault
Decreased the volume on my Fender Stratocaster below 50% and increased amplifier gain and volume settings to maintain sound level. With these settings the sound never cut but as soon as I increase the guitar volume it starts again
Hope this will help Fender to get rid of this annoyance in next update

All, just purchased the GT40 from Guitar Center yesterday. Having the exact same problem as described in the thread. Firmware is updated to current version. Has Fender acknowledge any further? Any chance we see a fix soon? Am considering returning amp to the store. Love amp with it's functioning properly. Anyone have further insights?

Disally, you might want to post that in the 'Modern Guitar Amplifiers' section of the forum. That's good troubleshooting because you can reproduce the problem. It seems like more of the amp technicians stop by the Modern Guitar Amps area of the forum than this one, so maybe you will get more help there. Sounds like an impedence mismatch issue eh?
