I surrendered today. I bought a Mustang II V.2. Don't know what I will end up doing with the GT, probably put it on Craig's list along with all the other garage sale items.
Totally disappointed in Fender on this one. However, I guess looking back this is their first really big fubar...overall they still offer the best equipment in the world.

I have a Mustang 11 V.2 and it is lying unused since I got my GT-100. There is no comparison in the sound quality and feature set. I don't bother with the Tone app at all. When I have an amp that is virtually indistinguishable from a Twin Reverb at a fraction of the price (and weight), anything else is a bonus.

I agree in part.
My 100v2 is also now unused
My GT100 also is sonically superior.
I disagree that anything else is a bonus.
Fender advertised a functional Android app with Bluetooth connectivity.
That is what I expected..... That is not what I got several months back.....
I still don't have it now....
I simply can't believe that people are willing to accept and excuse blatantly false and misleading propaganda...
I will persevere but am not happy about this....
Definitely not a "bonus"!

Your right this is totally unacceptable and to post here and act like everything is just fine when there's obvious issues makes me suspicious as to motives. I rolled the dice put my faith in Fender and didn't return my amp (silly me) but so far very little has changed and all I hear is lip service.

What you bought was the Mustang Amplifier. If it doesn't work, you can get a replacement or refund. The Tone amp was supplied free gratis and is in no way essential to the operation of the amplifier, merely an added convenience (or not), you didn't have to pay for it. If the Tone app doesn't work as advertised, I'm sure that Fender will refund the price of it. :D

If it's required to do some of the functionality the amp is advertised as having, it's part of the amp package. And Fender doesn't give it away for free - they set the price of the amps to pay for it.

@arth1 - Excellent point and that is probably why the original FUSE App was so seldom updated. Once the amp was sold there was no more revenue stream for Fender to support development of the software.

Seriously Stratocaster1983?
Here's the quote from the 1st paragraph of the Mustang page on the Fender web site: "We make it easy to control a studio’s worth of authentic amp and effects models with one finger via Bluetooth and the exclusive Fender Tone app. We invent the world’s first WiFi-equipped guitar amplifier, making it easy for you to download the latest updates, access Fender artist-created Presets, and connect directly with a community of other creative players and music makers like yourself. We create the Mustang GT digital amplifiers."
It's not just an amp......... it's a special "new"amp, the first of it's kind and the wifi/bt component is a major part of that sales message.
Sorry, couldn't disagree more.

For me, all these things work and have done since day one, so the statement in the ad is true to that extent. I am aware that they don't always work for others and there are issues to be ironed out. We are told that these are being addressed - but maybe not as quickly as we would like.

Apart from uploading presets, the amp is fully functional without the Tone app. What primarily concerns me is there is currently no way to back-up my settings.

Count me as a happy customer, I have not experienced any of the problems described. I would also like to add that the step by step instructions on the website for performing different tasks have been excellent.

I am with you. And I do understand your anger.

As I stated in another thread I still do believe that those issues are all software, not hardware. That means there is a chance that future updates will solve the issues or even better: add unexpected and exciting new features.

There is one trap though, kindof self-fullfilling prophecy: A manufacturer will only continue to improve the software if there are enough products sold. And continue to sell.

Now: we all should stay honest with the GT amps. And not badmouth it totally just because we are angry about one certain feature which might still be buggy. Done in excess is not motivating the manufacturer nor the dev-team to help us out. The idea, design and the sound capabilities are IMHO excellent for that price tag.

(Please dont get me wrong: I am not talking about particular people on this forum, and especially by no means about the original poster, i.e. I am also having YT in my mind)

Still can't connect to Tone. Fender customer service is no help. Very disappointed in the GT in general. Think I will take guitar centers recommendation and trade the GT in for a Katana. :( :x  $$$ hit or not I need something that works and I know the Katana interface does work quite well. I checked it out this time.

Fender I really think you should have taken more time in the development of the GT. You had it, the Mustang you had out there was/is still a solid product. Taken six more months on the GT release to get it right would have been the right decision and yeah hindsight is 20/20.

Is your phone on the latest version of android? I had this issue until I updated my phone's version of android. Some mobile companies don't roll out the latest version straight away.

Thank you for the info. My phone is Alcatel A30 GSM with Android 7.0 Nougat, it should work.

1 the lowest possible rating given by 60% of reviewers on Google Play. Most of what I read had to do with connectivity issues.

Is Fender working to make this app more widely compatible?

That's the same as I am running. Do you enable Bluetooth before opening the tone app? I know it may seem a silly question. Just trying to narrow down how to resolve the issue. Are you able to stream music to the amp also? Another thing is you have to have location available for the app to work. Make sure it's selected along with Bluetooth in the drop down menu in android and then open the app. Hope this helps.
