Thanks for the update, it installed without problems and the new features seem to work as expected. But the android-app still needs a lot of work.

Save function, thank you ! Unfortunately my most needed fix regarding the EXP is still foobar'd. Damn. I told Brett about it in detail many times, so the fact it didn't happen tells me it never will. This is a real drag for me. Others will probably be ok with it. Also, i thought you could delete the high slots that you made yourself but it doesn't. It just deletes the preset but the slot stays there with "empty" displayed. I don't understand the value in that? Now i have 200 slots which is about 180 more then I need. I expected it would retain the original 107 or whatever it was but i didn't expect it ti add more and no way to remove them all. Does anyone really need 200 patches?! Don't get me wrong, i appreciate the work. I'm just a bit disappointed.

There have been requests for a USB out gain (similar to the Mustang V.2 series). It doesn't appear from the list that it was added. Will this be a future enhancement?

I *think* i have the EXP1 working the way i wanted after all. But it's buggy still. I can live with it tho if it stays like this but in the past i'd get it working then it would quit. But it's displaying more positive behavior in some ways so i think it may work out. Time will tell but i'm very relieved at the moment !

There are bugs tho. It's back to doing one thing it did in the last amp where the highlighted know will be blue meaning it;s supposed to scroll to other knobs with the data wheel. And when you push the data wheel when on a given knob that knob now becomes adjustable. So with this bug the knob is adjustable when blue ! You have to push it a few times and it finally works right. Not a huge issue but i thought i'd mention it. Switching patches also seems a bit buggy where it seems to delay slightly at times. But time will tell....maybe thats a product of screwing with the exp settings

The global EQ is curious. I like that it now has degrees of brightness rather than one much brighter setting, but i'm not sure i understand what focus is because they just appear to be the same as the brightness ones. I know what focus means in regards to guitar tone but just making it brighter is not giving it focus. But i'll have to experiment more.

Overall a lot of decent improvements and one great one (the save function) and one other thats great for me if it keeps working right. I think the global EQ is better but i hate to start mentioning improvments already since we just got a long awaited update. But making the global settings saveable per patch would be a huge improvement because the brighter settings allow models that are too dark normally to be much livlier. But then it ruins models that are already very bright and you can't be changing it manually every time you change to a different preset. And you can't just compensate with the model's controls because the controls like treble and presence etc are all in DIFFERENT areas of the top and with different Q's. So if the model is too bright with the global set brighter, turning the brightness down in the model WILL compensate as far as overall brightness, but it can and usually will change the entire character of the top end. So being able to assign each preset it;s own global preset would be great, tho you of course have to stop calling them GLOBAL presests.

Oh, and also, the cabs do not all show up with the bassman as the new update is suppose to allow. I tried with a couple other models and all the possible cabs were available. But with the bassman only the same cabs as before are available. I have nit checked all the models so there may be others that aren't showing all cab options. No big deal to me as i only use one anyways, but worth a mention.

Not sure if this is placebo effect, but has anyone noticed the overall tone is better? It sure seems like it, and my bassman patch is feeding back and breaking into a harmonic especially easy which i don't recall it doing before so quickly and easily. I also noticed when i cranked it the tone seems to stay the same, only changing in that you get that bigger punch. But basically the tone seems to sound better as it gets loud. Maybe i'm imagining it, i don't know. But anyone else who notices anything please speak up.

I also noticed that and blamed it on the placebo effect. Maybe Brad has the answer?

I bet it had something to do with the many new global EQ presets. While working on those i bet they came to hear how the amp could be enhanced and changed the normal or "flat" setting to give it a livelier sound.

Regarding the change:

"Added “empty” presets in all unoccupied memory locations. All 200 locations will now show Fender factory presets, user presets or “empty” presets."

Seems to me a better solution would be as follows.
- When selecting presets to play, only show the preset numbers that are 'full'. There should be no 'empty' preset slots shown.
- When using Save As to store a new/modified preset, show all 'full' slots plus the next higher one in case the user wants to add it rather than replace an existing preset.
- When deleting a preset, delete that slot and re-number the remaining presets (similar to deleting a row in Excel). If someone only wants 10 presets, there should only be 10 'full' slots to select from when playing.

A couple suggestions/questions for consideration in future releases:
1. Not sure if there is a way to save all of your presets (modified & factory) so that you can reload them from a stored file. This is a necessary capability.
2. Need to be able to reload the 109 or so factory presets without needing to redo firmware. Not sure if this can or can't be done currently.
3. It would be nice to be able to download firmware releases to a PC and be able to load those into the amp without having to go to Fender servers via WiFi.

Been testing the new release, and if this is any indication of what we can expect I'm pleased. Lots of improvements in a little over a month, and clearly the elves at Fender are listening. Keep 'em coming!

Been a hard-working day today, but I found some time to mess with the new update.

Yes, the sound is definitely better. I fiddled around and zeroed in on global eq setting Guitar Focus 2.

Settings that I thought sounded like butt before sound much improved now. Much less fizz on British amps. More to come...
