Hi all
Does anyone know if there has been any progress with Android functionality?
I returned my GT100 but the ver7 Android firmware has now been released in Australia for the Galaxy 6 and I'd love to know if that makes any difference
Cheers all......

Based on what I take as credible comments, there will be a major improvement soon.
I'll bet there will be two updates before August, one major, addressing
wireless i/o and preset management, and then a followup
adding even better sound, my guess being improved by way of
more and better cabinets, and leveling out the amp volume outputs
to be more useful in stage/studio settings, if slightly less true
to the nature of the beasts.
Here's hoping!

Thanks
I've retrieved my GT100 after returning it to try the Android connectivity after the ver7 firmware upgrade.
Much improved although still has some issues.
Hopefully this is all improving.....
How are others finding the Android app now?
Cheers

This is an unrealistic expectation. While we're at it, let's hope they send an update that upgrades our speakers also.

It's perfectly realistic for a major brand to take decisive action
to repair a blunder, especially one with consumer law implications.
Reading both the lines, and between the lines, it's clear (to me)
that work is being done, and will be released after a (more) thorough
set of tests is passed successfully, instead of sucks-sad-fully

Hardware modeling businesses, and software amp-sim designers
have realized there is much to be gained in modeling speaker technology,
so it makes sense for Fender to make a strong showing in the related software
held in their firmwares.
Here's hoping!
Cheers

I believe that they are working to fix the Tone App, and the problems with the interface on the amp in general. They MUST address the usability of the amp, and I 100% believe that they will.

What I don't believe is that they will fix anything sound wise.

They obviously have different engineers that would be making all the modeling software VS the engineers that would be programming the interface, and also even different engineers that are programming the apps (I'd wager different engineers still for iOS VS Android).

My point is that all the modeling software is done. Those engineers are finished, they probably are off working somewhere else under a different contract by now. I expect no improvement to sound on these amps. Only useability.

Well I'm hoping that the functionality is sorted.
It would be sensational if they improved tones because I find that aspect great already.
Do you have any info about proposed changes to cabinet modelling?
Cheers

Wrong!

Well, that kind of nails it then. Thanks for the elucidation.

So you are expecting Fender to fix the sound in these amps? Have they even mentioned that? All I've seen around here is people getting confirmation that updates to the functionality are coming.

The first update improved the sound of the original but anyway, I don't know what you mean by 'fix the sound'. Which of the near infinite number of sounds are you referring to?
