Hi!

Is it possible to use a cab sim on the xlr but none on the speaker itself at the same time?

I currently have the mustang III v1 (looking to upgrade) and I never use the cab sim on the speaker itself, this gives me the best overal results. But no cab sim on the xlr and usb etc sounds bad (duh). I personally think it would be great to hear our amp with no cab sim and send a simulated out to the FOH.

Does anyone have a detailed diagram of the soundpath of the new gt's?

Regards!

You could try putting a cab-sim on an audio track
in your daw software, and feeding it your xlr output.
Mercurial have free 4x12 hiwatt, and Marshall AVT 50 1x12
cabsims

LePou has a Mac or 32-bit windows impulse response cab loader
if you fancy aquiring specific IR files. Both have a selection of
ampsims for extra-curricular activities.

The new GT has FRFR speakers. No cab sim will sound awful with it, just like through FOH. Regular guitar speakers do contribute an awful lot to a good guitar tone. In example cut the treble above 7 k or so...

The cabsim question also applies to the use of usb and line outputs,
where the actual speakers are not being used.

I think there is still room for a read-only sticky topic
that consists of links to every manual, guide, diagram,
video etc pertaining to these amps. There's no money
in people wandering around needlessy looking for information
that could be at our fingertips, and in several locations.
Links don't waste disk space. But the lack of them wastes time.
Times is money
yada yada yada

Is it though? it is just a 1x12, no tweeter or woofer to give you the full range of frequencies. Some people say the speaker of the v1 is FRFR, but it is not. :)

My personal opinion is that the v1 doesn't sound all that good with the emulation on when listening through the combo itself.
