I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced some fizz/static as they let a note ring out and decay to silence? I've had it happen on my 200 on some of the canned presets as well as roll-your-own presets. I'll strum a chord or single note and let it ring and toward the last third of the sustain period, I'll hear a "tztztztztzt" sound along with the note, kind of like tuning in a far-away radio station. Not enough noise-gate maybe? A processing artifact?

not to be an alarmist, just an observation-- this was a huge issue with the v1 mustang III amps...

Do I smell another "fizz" issue with these new amps coming around for a visit?

I noticed this on one or 2 models, but only when the bias is set all the way down which like a real tube amp will do that when it's much too low. So i think it's just mimicking that. If you didn't set the bias way low then i don't know what to tell you other than maybe it's defective. Mine decays perfectly other then that one or 2 models that display that with bias all the way down.

OK, I found two things with this fizz thing. One, non-hum-cancelling setups like my strat with pure vintage 65 pickups produce it - which means that I'd get background noise even on a good tube amp with that setup.

Two, the Dire Straights Sultans download preset makes fizz even with humbuckers... until you bypass the compressor on that setting -- so the compressor can add fizz if one is not careful, I guess.

compressors and noise gates can cause that regardless of whether you;re talking about a modeler or tube amp. It's not a flaw in the mustang.
