just too many things aren't right and the sound isn't the professional quality I was hoping for. My Tele sounded bland thru it but sounded great thru my other amps. Still having Bluetooth streaming issues. No Android capabilities. So today I shipped it back. Hopefully I'll get a decent refund.

Out of curiosity, are you going to buy a different amp as a replacement?
Boss Katana, Marshall CODE, or other?

I already have a Marshall Code 25 I bought used or else that would go back too.... But I just got back from Guitar Center with a new Katana 50 watt amp. It sounds incredible in comparison. Much much better. I'm very happy with it so far.

I tried the Boss Katana, but like the Blackstar ID:Core and Mustang GT-40, I found it to be somewhat "sterile", sounding more like a bluetooth or computer speaker than a guitar amp.
The Marshall Code 50 sounds more like a guitar amp, in my humble opinion, but the configuration choices are somewhat limited.

The Yamaha THR-100H sounds great, but it's also expensive and you need to buy a cab in addition, and like the Marshall Code, the configuration choices are somewhat limited.

I haven't had a chance to test the Vox AV30 yet, but I've heard good things about how it sounds, being a hybrid modelling amp where you can get actual tube breakup. It requires pedals for most of the effects, though.

Ya it's cheaper but I took a beating on return shipping fees and I'll take another for restocking fees, which I shouldn't have to because it's a poor design and should be re-called.

Many people are recommending the Katana so I decided to try it out... I'm glad I did. The software for it actually works !!! It actually sounds really nice....12" speaker !! The $50 cheaper is a mute point. This is a much better amp system by far. Sorry Fender. I tried.

any day you get "better" for "cheaper" is a good day. It sure does sound like the GT amps were released before they were ready for prime time.

I much prefer my GT-100 to a Katana, I've had no problems whatsoever.

Different gear for different ears.

You get an A+ for effort, you bought things, and spent many hours trying
to find success.

Glad you like the Katana, and hope Fender warehouse recognize their fiscal responsibilities.

If you get some time, demo the BlueCat Destructor amp-sim setup.
It offers panels for pream, amp, and filters, and another for
compressor/limiter type things . Easy to use, and a great escape tunnel
for that something extra at 2AM

I'm happy with the GT40 sound via usb, haven't come across any
sonic weakness, and don't have any wifi/bluetooth gear,
so mine's a keeper, and on the lookout for a great bargain on another.
Cheers

I have had no problems with WIFI or Bluetooth, love mine and it is a keeper!

I bought my GT100 on May 9 and I returned it today. Not sure if I got one with a bad speaker, or if this is just the way the GT was designed, but mine sounded 'darker' than my MIII v2. The GT never sounded great to me, lacking in brightness (blanket over the speaker sound?) and its speaker was very directional (i.e. Off center axis the tone and volume would change). Never had any of these issues with my MIII.

I really like some of the features with the GT, but when you consider Fender:
A) Increased the price $75 vs MIII v2
B) Removed the FX enable/disable buttons
C) Elimated the use of 2 button switch
D) No longer supports a PC interface via Fuse
It's just not the step forward that I was hoping for from Fender. Given that I will most likely take a $100+ loss selling the MIII, I can't justify this 'upgrade'. I'll stick with my MIII and wait for a GT v2 that, I really hope, addresses these shortcomings and includes a much better speaker.

YMMV

You definately got one thats bad in one way or another because i've had a MIII V2 for years and my GT100 is much brighter and LESS blanketed sounding. In fact, some models i can get so downright in your face and agressive it's more so than most tube amps i've had and makes my MIII sound like mud by comparison, and i'm not exaggerating. Mine had issues tho too, and one of them was a sound issue and i got it warrantied and have a new one. But even the returned one never sounded the least bit blanketed or dark unless i set it that way.

My buddy is right there with you. He has regretted selling his MIIIv2 and getting the GT100 since the very first day he got it. I keep telling him to return it or sell it but he feels "invested" in it now. I think he keeps hoping it gets better.

I've played three different ones and every single one paled in comparison to my MIIIv2. What one described as the "blanket over the amp" sound is pretty spot on. I compared it more to that compressed, tight, sound you get with a pawnshop or yard sale guitar with 5 year old rusty strings. It just sounded awful (on all three I've tried). Some people may be getting a gem here and there (which is awesome for them), but I haven't found that gem yet. They've all been Giant Turds.

I was ready to either make the "upgrade" from the MIIIv2 or at least add the GT100 to the fold, but I can't bring myself to do it. Maybe the GTv2 will be more than a polished turd. I'm in no hurry, so I'll wait and see.

djwayne, you tried, man. Kudos for effort.

I've been on the fence about returning my $600 investment in the '200, but I think that my return period is up... meaning that I didn't have enough motivation to pull the trigger and drive to GC when I could have. This tells me that deep-down, I'm hoping that future firmware changes will help - a gamble, I know. I've dialed in some killer tones on my GDEC 3/30 (I'm still proud of the original "1978Brown" setting that I made under userid "woodgrain67"!); doing the same with an amp that is several generations newer shouldn't be this hard.

Happy trails, amigo!

Actually Musician's Friend was really nice about it. They called and said they were going to reimburse me for my shipping expenses along with the price of the amp. They have a 45 day return policy window which I was eligible for. I just explained to them I was having Bluetooth dropout problems with the amp. and they took it back.
