Haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but supposedly it allows you to create presets from scratch now which would be nice!

From the Google Play app page:

WHAT'S NEW

We are working hard to make improvements to Tone so you can make full use of the Mustang GT amp features.
ADD CHAIN ITEM - You can now add an effect or change the amp on any preset. Start building a customized preset signal chain & see it update in real time on your amp.
CREATE PRESET - Create an all new preset from scratch. Set the name, select an amp, and the preset will be saved to a new slot so you can start adding pre- and post-FX.
DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS
FIXED BUGS & CRASHES

Baby steps but still progress right?

Bluetooth keeps dropping out which prevents you from changing presets. Settings edit doesn't work or save edits. It does hook up but drops out fairly quickly. Still not ready for prime time.

It's very touchy but I am able to get it to work...first off you have to shut down every other blue tooth device, then turn it on from inside the Tone app only....that seems to be the most stable setup. Then select a preset and hit the + sign on the bottom of the page to add effects or make changes. After you made your change you must hit the save button on the upper right hand section of the page. I was able to save a preset to my amp doing this. Even though I got it to work once doesn't mean I can do it again. maybe after it runs for a while it's become more stable. Not having any written instructions makes it difficult. Everything is trial and error with me.

Oh geez that's no good. Are the iOS users having the same issues? I'm wondering if I shouldn't just go get a used iPad or something.

No problems at all with my iPad Pro or iPad Mini as long as they are not paired and only used through the Tone app connection. This means that you can't edit tones and stream music at the same time but that's no big deal as I can stream over the AUX input from my iPad with a cable.

Adding presets and effects and editing their settings works fine so far, but deleting or bypassing effects is not possible. Neither can you sort or delete your presets. Hope they fix that soon.

With the GT-40, my iPhone 6S has been rock solid for Bluetooth via the Tone app once I got the amp through its first firmware update. I haven't tried to stream via Bluetooth though, preferring right now to use Tone on the iPhone for control, and my iPad through the aux cable for backing tracks (although I've been missing the H/W aux in volume control that my THR-10C has). But it would be nice to be able to control the amp and stream audio over Bluetooth at the same time; I don't know enough about BT to know if that's possible or not.

I wish that the Tone app would automatically connect with the amp over BT though; it's a bit tiresome to go through an explicit "connect to the amp" step every time I fire up the amp.

I give up trying to stream music with Bluetooth. It's more trouble than it's worth. I can listen to music thru my studio monitors, they sound better anyway. I've had nothing but trouble with Bluetooth from day one. And that goes for the Mustang GT 40 and the Code 25. They are both buggy. It's just a cheap trick gimmick.

I still can't see or edit the presets on my amp. I'm connected via Bluetooth, the WiFi connection is working, but the updated Android app is still only showing the default presets, not any of my edited or created presets.

I've been able to edit to some degree. You can't delete effects yet, at least not that I can see. Bluetooth is still buggy. I had the BT lock up on me so I had to force close the app. Then I noticed I had 3 presets in a row with the same name when I turned the amp on again and 3 completely different presets that had the same delay applied that I only applied to the very first preset on the amp.

This is frustrating lol

I've updated Tone app to it's latest version (v1.6) and now the app won't work for me at all. As I will open the app it will only show me white blank screen in the startup and automatically close itself. Is it some internal bug that came with the app? Please help!

prasanthvanamlo - sorry to hear about this issue! Can you try deleting the app and re-installing? Its possible the update did not fully install properly.

Also, what firmware version of the GT are you using? To check your firmware version, press the MENU button and use the Encoder to scroll to ABOUT THIS AMP. The firmware version is listed as ‘VERSION.’ You may need to update your amp firmware: see fender.com/GT for instructions.

If deleting/reinstalling the app and updating the amp firmware don't help, please submit a support ticket at https://tone-support.fender.com/hc/en-u ... _id=181566 so we can troubleshoot in more detail.

Thanks,
Josh
