I'm having difficulty getting a good tone from my Yamaha APX-7a electo-acoustic through my GT100. None of the built in acoustic guitar preset will do, they all sound too 'electric'. I play blues finger style - think Eric Clapton Unplugged. In theory, I thought that the studio preamp would give the most accurate reproduction but it sounds too quiet and dull. I tried putting the overdrive effect in front and it does give a boost but it still doesn't sound like an acoustic guitar should. I tried all the speaker cabinets but they were all worse than 'none'. An acoustic guitar amp would have very small speakers but I have a Line6 Spider Jam that handles acoustic guitar very well (it does have a tweeter in addition to the 12".) Any suggestions?

I downloaded a preset called "Acoustic Interface" that sounds pretty good.

(edit: I was assuming each of the modeled amps would have
it's cabinet as a mix-n-match option, and further assuming
a nice 4x10 would be among the choices. I also mistakenly
mentioned the SuperSonic, when I should have said 'Super Reverb',
which was the 4X10 I was hoping for. Firmware to the rescue
for a 4X10 cab model? I would think it a good option for
accoustic blues. End edit)

I would pick the global EQ that sounds best,
when using the Twin Reverb amp, and SuperSonic cab.

Keep the gain low/off, and adjust the on-amp EQ knobs.

After the amp, I would try the Ring Modulator in a small dose,
with the small Plate Reverb, those might add some brightness,
and then the Ambient reverb. You might also try a small amount
of the Ambient reverb before the amp.

A compressor before the amp is also worth trying.
Hope you get your desired sounds soon!
Cheers

I've put in a feature request for an Acoustasonic amplifier preset and also a graphic/parametric equalizer stomp box. Really needs notch filter to tame the feedback.
