I've had my GT100 for a week now and have gone through the learning curve. Basically, I love it but there are a few fundamental design flaws that bug me. Being used to amps that do one thing well, the GT100 does too many things less well.

On my Mustang 2v2, I loaded-up the first of the three banks with the few tones that I use using Fuse. I play electric and acoustic blues. I have never used pedals and rarely touch amp setting - I change over guitars a lot though - ES-335, Telecaster, Yamaha APX-7 acoustic. The 8 presets were more than enough for me and were selectable instantly.

What I want from my GT100, is to be able to tweak those 8 tones I use and have instant access to them. I am happy to use the Tone app to do that initial tweaking on my iPad but I wouldn't want to rely on an unreliable Bluetooth connection in a live gig situation.

Using a SetList, would solve my problems, in theory except it takes several button pushes and knob twiddles to even reach the SetList. Wouldn't it be great if the amp remembered the state it was in when it was last switched off? i.e. it would boot up into my SetList and the last tone that I used, not default to Tone 01!

And, SetLists need to be re-orderable and tweakable! I really do believe that presets in SetLists should be separately editable 'instances' of the original presets.

There is an elegance in simplicity. In the end, the audience want to listen to music, not amp tones.

I am really enjoying the GT100 thus far. To my ears, the improvement over my v1 (which served me well for 5 years) is significant enough to make this a no-brainer upgrade.

While it's great to pack so much capability into the platform, I would agree sometimes its almost too much. At the end of the day, once I shape the tones I want I will spend 90% of my time on 3 or 4 presets. Those will be my quick access settings.

I really like the idea of the Tone app. I always found Fuse clunky and difficult to use, and the simplicity of the app is great....it just needs more debugging. The glitches I am seeing relate to synching between Tone and the amp...entries doubling up in Tone, and the tendency for presets to jump around when using the encoder wheel while Tone is connected. Fender customer service appears to be on the case, and I would think we will see fixes on these issues soon.

I would echo a point made by others on the looper function...there is certainly a risk that you engage it by mistake while onstage. It would be great to be able to disable it from the menu to avoid that risk.

Hope to get some more quality time with it this weekend, and maybe play with some of the new user-submitted presets...

I agree, a worthy upgrade from the old line tonally. Functionality wise....ummm, not so much. I much prefer the old one but tone is everything to me so i'll live with it. In the end tho much like one of you above suggested, i create the tone i want and once i get the best from a model or 3 i'm done and i just play. Now and then i'll tweak something, but for the most part functionality become much less important once i feel I've gotten about as good a tone as i'm going to get. I basically like one great tone and use the same patch 95% of the time and 100% of the time at a gig or jam. could care less about the app. The only 2 functions i really miss badly are the ability to save a preset to another slot in a 2 second operation and the ability to save my presets to my desktop in case i somehow lose them.

http://smallbusiness.chron.com/connect- ... 28441.html

from the linked article: Android has an app named "ES File Explorer"

I don't have any android/ios items, maybe someone could try this guide
and see how close they get to simple file-transfer of presets?

There is also a win7-to-android page at the link.
Cheers
