So you beta tested Fuse ... did you hear from Fender at all about testing this new line of amps or the associated apps? All I got out of signing up was they added me to a SPAM list.

I said I'm tired of buying technology that isn't all there. I probably should have thought twice about the Mustang GT. It's a cool amp, and sounds good, but it's a bit frustrating when it doesn't work right and it's brand new. I think a lot of these software driven amps are pushed out too fast. I tried a Line 6 amp like this a couple of years ago and it had the same type of issues so I didn't keep it. Same thing with the Fender GDEC 3. Then after a couple of years they go away, and the company is on to the next big thing.

Right now I'm having trouble updating the firmware. I had no problem the first time, but now it just keeps indicating that it's downloading. It sat like that for a hour before I gave up. Frustrating to say the least, and keeps me from actually using the amp.

No I didn't hear from Fender about beta testing the new Mustang GT or Tone app. Just as well.

yeah I knew what you meant, just a pun. I purchased a v1 Mustang III in 2012 and really like the amp. I also like the software and all the flexibility of the platform.

What I don't like is how Fender has chosen to support (or not support) their aging lines digital amps. Not everybody can afford to drop another $400 every 3-5 years to stay on top of a trend. I'm typing this on a Windows 7 PC. Microsoft continues to provide full support for this OS, despite moving on to Windows 8 and then Windows 10.

Currently, I can not download any band tracks. Here is a 2-page thread about it: Link

Kind of a bummer considering home recording/jamming is a major selling point of this amp. How long before this happens to the new GT series? I think I'll pass.

It's a major bummer. Fender comes out with these great new amps every couple of years, and then they die on the vine. If Fuse or the Tone app and their respective online resources stop working, because Fender is on to something new, and they don't or won't continue to support them then there will be a lot of disappointed customers.

When I try to go to presets with my Android phone Tone App instead of the wheel on the amp; the preset that is called up on the amp is always one down from the one I selected on the Tone App.

Tone App only displays the first 106 presets. The amp has 109 presets and I am supposed to be able to add to that with my own patches.

I have the GT40 and it is updated to latest firmware. Are these known issues?

Yes it's known and being fixed 'soon'.

And the Plug guy. The two would cover a lot of code territory.

But does anyone on our side of the sales-counter know
if any contact efforts were put forth?
Beancounters and corporates often fail to see the obvious,
or prefer in-house cronyism.

But it's also far from being too late to make contact, and possibly hire.
Firmware and updates are not carved in stone, and apparently a desktop app
to replace Fuse, has yet to hit even the wipe board :(

Ha that was my thought too. The good news is a guy from Fender stated on another forum that they just hired a couple of new Android coders and we should expect updates very soon.

I hope you're right, I just got a nice deal on an Android 11.5" tablet with keyboard. It'd be perfect to use with either the Code 25 or 40 GT. I'd prefer to use it with both. It'll be here Friday.

They should already be here. The unit is advertised as works with Android. :(

Current fault:
Tone works ok with factory presets but when I try and load a downloaded preset the screen goes black with a spinning wheel. So can't access the adjustment page.

Also I've given up trying to run Tone and stream music via Bluetooth at the same time! Have had to resort to an audio cable!
Come on Fender, you can obviously didn't do much testing before launch. These are all basic user problems!
