Until Fender offer an official ‘Fault’ report avenue I thought it would be handy for us ‘first users’ to combine our problems

After my first day with the amp I am a little disappointed

1: iOS User. The amp keeps disconnecting via Bluetooth to the ‘Tone’ App

After a lot of resetting/removing devices I appear to have found that the problem lies with using the same device for both audio streaming and ‘Tone’ use.
I have a number of IOS devices and they all respond the same way. Constant disconnection! However using one for audio and the other for the ‘Tone’ app appears to work

I noticed during first setup that when the App is running and says connected as well in the iOS settings, audio will not play. You have to exit the app and connect just via iOS settings to get music to play. (Oh and by the way on the initial firmware this resulted in full volume regardless of iPhone level). Reloading the app and connecting took ages and as said then kept dropping out.
It’s as if the Amp considers the device audio and app as two separate Bluetooth devices?

Interesting Tomorrow I'm going to hookup a Bluetooth headset so my ipad is sending audio to it and then connect to the Mustang GT Bluetooth and try to use the app. I have only one ios device but it should work with a headset hooked up to the audio. Maybe you've stumble on to something. Fingers crossed

I've been having Bluetooth issues as well with my Windows 10 desktop, Windows 10 tablet, and the iPod...I've done my best to trace out the problems and it appear that on the Windows10 machines the Windows 10 keep dropping the Blue tooth application, is nothing to do with the GT40.

With the iPod, for some reason the GT40 became disconnected and was simple to re-connect and all worked well.

The Windows10 machines though loose all knowledge of the Bluetooth transmitter and drivers, I've given up on them. More trouble than it's worth.

So in my research, the problem is not with the GT40 at all but with my devices. I do have my best luck with the iPod. That seems to work okay as long as they are both connected.

Controlling the volume on the iPod does indeed control the volume on the GT40.

Note: the behavior described by the OP here is mentioned in our support knowledgebase (see 4th question here):

https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/art ... -Bluetooth

Not the answer there is incredibly illustrative, mind you - but just trying to keep pointing folks to the support materials as that knowledgebase material will be further growing and developing over time (it's already had numerous updates since initial launch.)

I'm having a similar problem with the Tone App, for some unknown reason it disconnects from the amp via Bluetooth and I have to re-connect it. It happened a couple times tonight while I was downloading presets. I was able to get it back on right away. I was NOT streaming any music. Anyhow I got a bunch of gem quality presets tonight and I'm thrilled !!!!!

Try going to iOS Bluetooth settings and deleting the GT. then just load TONE and connect through that.

Personally I didn't think it was possible to have more than one Bluetooth device connected at one time. Yet there is something going on as connecting the amp via the app alone doesn't allow audio streaming. As said, this requires terminating the app and using the standard Bluetooth settings

I tried your suggestion and so far it seems to be working but I need to give it some time to be sure...thanks

Excellent! Keep us informed. Will do some more tests myself tonight but it does confirm my suspicions that there is a bug in the app that doesn't like controlling the amp when it's also connected for streaming purposes?

This is very disappointing if it cannot be fixed as it was exactly the same problem I had with the Line 6 Amplifi I returned. Hoped Fender would have been on top of the software, if not can fix it and it's not a Bluetooth limitation.
Don't mind helping diagnose bugs as a new user as long as Fender are monitoring theses threads and except the problems.

Well my iPod and GT40 have been connected all morning and it hasn't dropped out yet, so I would say you're spot on. Thank you for your suggestion !!

No problem.
I hope Fender Techs are reading and can sort the problem?
A pain having to use one iOS device for 'Tone' and another for streaming audio!

Well the amp stayed connected until about 1:00pm when I had to shut it down to leave for a while. I came back, turned on the amp and iPod was disconnected. It took about 30 seconds to reconnect, so it's no big deal.

As far as using Tone and streaming at the same time, I would never do that anyway. I'd use Tone, set up my presets, and put it away. THEN come back later and do my streaming while jamming with the amp and guitar. After a while, the Tone app is something I'd only use once in a while. I mean once my presets are loaded up, I really wouldn't use the app that much, unless I wanted to edit a preset, or build my own. Right now I'm using it a lot because I'm still in the setup phase, setting up my amp. So as far as I'm concerned there's nothing that's a deal breaker here for me.

Ok I finally got my Android hooked up to the app after trying countless configurations throughout the day. I don't know what changed but as Pacemaker1000 recommended I set the phone to stream Bluetooth to the GT and I used my my tablet for the app.

I notice when I start the app I have to go to Settings/Bluetooth in the app and manually connect the GT. I also think I unpaired the Mustang Bluetooth on the tablet I'm still a little confused about that because I was trying so many things.

When I click on one of the presets that I made (110-123) I get a white page and the amp and effects don't show up like they do in all the stock presets so there's no way of editing anything I made. Anybody else experience this?

I tried to connect with my ipad and it still won't connect while using my phone to stream audio, maybe it's because I'm using ios and Android together??? It doesn't seem logical but I really don't know.

At least this is a step in the right direction thanks everybody for your input
