Having used my GT100 with 2 other speakers, the stock MIII V2 speaker and a EV12L, i can say with no hesitation that this amp is best with the stock speaker. And the 12L was my go to speaker for every amp i have had for at least 25 years. You may hear things you like with a different speaker but i think those who do will eventually come to hear it differently in time. Often the difference is perceived as good even if its not. I tried those speakers more than once. I've tried them a good 5 times in the month i've had the amp and i always go back to the stock and hear harmonic complexity and clarity that was missing in the others. The problems people are hearing are not due to the speaker. And this amp is so adjustable in many ways including the global settings that i have yet to feel it wasn't bright enough or have enough low end. It has plenty of both compared to my MIII V2 which i have now spent a lot of time A/B'ing it with. And i have come to believe beyond a doubt that most every tonal issue people have mentioned are due to things that are NOT beyond control at all. I have been able to get past any of it and get sounds that are so much better it goes beyond subjectivity, and i hesitate to EVER say that in regards to tone. But given the same models tweaked to sound thier best, in this case the bassman, theres simply no way anyone with any sort of ear for guitar tone could listen to my MIII next to my GT with the settings i have on both and not say the GT smokes it. It's so obvious in most of the tonal details that all players want that it's better i'd wager that theres no one that would listen to both and disagree. And thats with the stock speakers.

I do have issues with the GT seeming too compressed, but at this point thats my only tonal issue. It's not negligible to me and it could change my feelings about it over the MIII which doesn't have this issue. But as far as tone goes without respect to playing dynamics, this amp eats the old one alive IMO, but it does take time to find the best in it like the old one did. And as i've gotten better at doing that it's tone has gotten more and more obviously better then the MIII and i now would not consider trying any more speakers. the stock one just works,. I would suggest to the guy above that swapped his out to try the stock speaker again in a few weeks because in time you get to really hear things more clearly and at some point i think his opinion of them might change. I used mine in a band context finally and my bass player who never mentions my tone commented several times how good it sounded compared to my old mustang. of course he can't hear playing dynamics so he's just listening to the tone itself, and in that regard it slaughtered to old amp in the band mix. And when i turned it up i was happy to note the tone just stayed basically the same, just punchier. The old amp would require a EQ in the loop at stage volume because it changed so much. I can use the same settings at home or with the band which i could never dream of doing with my old mustang.

So IMO the speaker is right for this amp and i urge anyone who puts something else in it to swap back after a time to be sure the new one is truly better and not just different. This amp has a ton of potential and i think if they can get the old amp's lack of compression happening in the GT there will be no contest, assuming you can tweak it to your own nirvana, because i do believe a lot of people can't or just don't for lack of time or whatever. But its capable of much better tone that the old mustang without a doubt. Side by side i have plugged into them back and fourth trying to get a firm understanding of how they differ tonally and whats better in each, and i have come to feel i know the difference perfectly now, at least for the classic tone i tend to use.

Agreed! Generally, I wish that when I turned the amp off and on again, it would put me back into the same state I was in before I turned it off:

Put me back to the preset I was on
Remember modifications I've made to that preset
Remember modifications I've made to the amp, like master volume setting

Yes, start up with the last patch that was active for sure.

Do not automatically save any modifications that were done. It's easy enough to save them, and sometimes a quit but don't save may be needed.

Just my $0.2

Something that annoys me is the app going into edit mode when you select a patch. i would prefer it to stay on the patch list page ready for my next selection! perhaps a double tap to enter edit mode?

also not happy with the removal of the 'my preset' tab as i now have to scroll through all the factory presets to find my own!

I have requested this with Fender, totally agree. The amp should boot up to the state it was in when switched off. They are looking at it.

Two solutions to this: 1. Use Set Lists for the same purpose or, better still, 2. Move your favourite tones to the highest slots >>200. Then you only have to scroll backwards a few clicks. Note, you can't scroll backwards on the Tone app - yet.

I also note that mine still doesn't connect automatically since the last upgrade!

How about utilising the usb port so we could attach a memory stick to save/import loops and to extend the length of the looper. I mean 60 seconds? That's not very long compared to cheap looper pedals that can record up to 10 minutes.
