I got my new Mustang GT 100 today, set it up, updated the firmware through Wifi, set up Bluetooth, and started going through some presets at moderate volume. I happened to notice a peculiar smell, a mix between new car/hot plastic. I felt around the amp and speaker, and didn't sense any heat. I played some music through my phone on it, and realize it's going to need some time to break in, but I wondered if this scent is common? It reminded me of buying an old amp from a smoker, and only realizing that it was in a smoker's home once you start to push some air with it? Thoughts?

I got a GT40 this afternoon, and also notice the new car aroma.
A little Old Spice goes a long way!

Yep, same here. Pulled it out of the box and was hit with enough fumes to get you high. Fresh off the line ! Very new car like. But don't worry, it fades very quickly after it's out of the box.

I didn't notice any smell on my new GT40, but I definitely did with my Mustang III.

Had a little bit of a "new car" smell with my own GT 40 as well - it definitely seems to be subsiding over time though.
