Here in the UK, the four button footswitch for the GT amps is £60. The older one is £90. I have a GT footswitch on back order but delivery is perpetually quoted as being two weeks away.

In France, for the MGT-4, delivery is expected at the end of july.

Only realized I had entered Loop Record mode because after 60 seconds of recording, playback will instantly start the playback of recorded track - aggravating !

Cant trust this at a gig I hope the official MGT-4 pedal reacts better when it arrives next week , but if you are able to use older Fender 4 switch pedals ( any generation) reliably with Mustang GT , count yourself lucky.

This is a pain for me as well. Firstly, I never use a looper. It should be programmable so that the third press (looper) could be something else. Also, having the FX switch only the FIRST 3 FX is a major fail as well, you should be able to assign whichever you want to any button you want. Roland has it all over Fender here.

For those who have the Mustang III/IV 4-button footswitch, how is it working with the current GT firmware? Musician's Friend is advertising the old ones for less than $50, and it's getting harder to hold out for the new version...

Works perfect. As fender already said, it;s the same exact one as the new gT one but with the incorrect labeling. Pay $50 and get the overlay. However, while i wil get the overlay since it's free, i don't even need it because once you use the switch you dont even need the labeling to be correct, as you already know what the buttons do.

I noticed that (for UK members of the forum) the MGT4 foot switches are now in stock at Andertons and Gear4Music. They're selling for £60.00

I just ordered mine from gear4music in the UK and it's arriving in the morning. It's all Nick's fault with that beautiful loop on the fender product video. Hehe.

I just got mine from Gear4Music. I can't get on with the looper at all. Can't manage to make the ends and starts fit. I am also disappointed that I can't save loops for another time and the only way I've found to delete a loop is to restart the amp. Don't think I'm going to be using this.

So let me just say I am an absolute novice when it comes to playing guitar and I have never used a looper pedal before. I have in the past (15 years ago) messed about with cubase and a sampler.
I found the looper very easy to use and I wasn't wearing shoes!
On my first attempt I missed the loop but on my second I got an almost perfect loop and overdubbed with 2 more guitar loops and 2 vocals with a microphone. My guitar loops were very basic as I am a beginner but the whole thing was pretty good as far as I was concerned.
And to delete the track you just select undo on the pedal.
I just hope I don't spend all my time getting lost in loops now and actually crack on and learn how to play the guitar!! Hehe.

I have been able to get decent sound out of the GT - not nearly as great sounding as the mustang III but nevertheless - usable.

however, the footswitch and it's use is terrible. the buttons are hard to use, they are slow to accept and having four switches for tuner, effects, patches, and the looper makes using it completely impossible for live work. I've waited until I used the amp for five months before posting - it simply is unacceptable.

any chance there is some future replacement footswitch that can be more useful?

I have a Line 6 Spider III amp with the shortboard - the amp doesn't sound as good as the mustang but I can get to four patches and four effects as well as the tuner, a volume pedal and up/down patches, it also has special section for noise gate and the EQ - that's a footswitch
