Who knows, but the 40 might be $200 or $249, instead of $299.

Check out these sites and do the Currency conversion:

http://www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/fender-mu ... tar-amp.ir

http://www.pourlesmusiciens.com/fender- ... gt-40.html

Yes I did that and posted the prices in an earlier post in this very long thread.

"3. A Swedish music site which I translated is advertising the Mustang GT 40 for $271.47 with shipping included but not in stock yet."

"4. A French music site has the same amp at $250.10 with free shipping and not in stock yet as well."

Note the free shipping and not even in stock yet which translates they might come down when they actually have some and here in the states we usually get better pricing since Fender was founded here in Fullerton, California 71 years ago and is now headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The one you added was 187 British Pound which equals 239.68 US Dollar. :)

I'm just going by the prices i saw on a few USA sites before fender made them take them down. They showed the 100 watt for $399 and the 200 watt for $100 more. I may have been off on the 40, not sure. I even discussed pricing with a friend who ones a store and sells fender and asked him what he could do for me and the list he was showing on the 100 watt was $399.

Maybe MSRP? I just bought a brand new 2017 RV a few months ago and the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price was 48,000.00 and I paid cash and paid only 32,500.00. I know this is a completely different industry but just saying.

Of course. Why would you state street price when it can vary wildly? Besides, unline most gear, the mustangs have always sold for MSRP at most stores barring sales and such. MSRP for the MIII V2 was $329 and thats what all he major retailers sold them for barring sales. So when you are asking for prices, especially on an item thats not even in the stores yet, MSRP is the ONLY possible answer. With a yet to be released item anything else would be total speculation.

True. I will only add that when I was buying a ton of gear for my recording studios I would arrange for private conversations in the office before store hours with the managers of Guitar Centers and I have done this in three locations. They introduce me to my go to guy for every department and everything goes through him and I got exceptional deals on gear and much less than what Tom, Dick, Harry, James, and Ruth got. My point is just because everyone is paying specified prices these days deals can be made behind closed doors but again I was buying tens of thousands of dollars. Now I have everything I ever wanted or need and am becoming a minimalist except I want the GT.

Speaking of which I have another GT sighting coming in next post. <g>

This could be someone yanking our chain but......

THIS IS A PREORDER FOR THE MUSTANG GT100

Depending on Fenders fulfillment rate and the HIGH expected demand for this item we are pre-selling our incoming orders on a first come first served basis.

We expect to start shipping these on May 8th. Again, this may change depending on availability factors but you will be at the front of the line for yours.

This amp is a game changer.

Always steer clear of simply converting the currencies when comparing prices in the US/UK/EU/ETC.

I'm in the UK, so can't speak for every country, but all prices you will see on UK based stores is what you will pay. Our sales tax is always included in he price, where as from what I understand that is not the case in the US.

Also, sometimes even after taking sales taxes into account prices still aren't the same.

In a situation like this I've been checking out the US (leaked, so may not be correct) prices for the new mustangs, finding something else of a similar price in the US and then finding that product on a UK based website. From this it seems the new mustangs may be slightly more expensive.

Thanks for people's opinions on the Boss Katana. Once the new GTs are out and available in stores I'm going to compare them. Even the current Mustangs have more features than the Katana but sounds trumps features so will have to wait and see! It will definitely be one of these two though... I think!

My state has no sales tax. You are welcome and looking forward to your comparison study of the Boss Katana and the Mustang GT respectively. I have a gut level feeling that Fender is going to kill it but not literally. <g>

No sales tax!? Very lucky!

Mustang vs Katana? Why am I imagining a Ford Mustang revving next to a ninja with a katana? :D

Before you all get too excited Remember how fender abandoned the old mustangs as the software was too much trouble
They make good guitars and amps But technology and software No Thanks

Fender Fuse works just fine on my computer to this day bigmalh. I'm not sure we're working from the same definition of 'abandoned'.

I agree that Fuse has been neglected, but the entire program looks and feels very antiquated, and it Is clear Fender is developing an entirely new platform: their new apps designed to work with this new amp. I imagine fuse won't ever get another update, forcing people to move to the new amp line and download apps on their phone/computer to manage it.

Having been a long time Fuse user, I can't wait for it to be replaced. That doesn't mean Fender is bad at software. It means they are moving to something newer and better.

Aside from backups and updates, fuse was only really necassary for the old ones under the MIII that had no LCD and for saving backups and updates. All the new ones have LCD's, and I think the new ones with extra buttons over the V2 probably do it all with the LCD other than saving presets as a backup and updates. So they might just use some new simple app they have for that but it likely will be much smaller and only there for updates and backups.
