This is the first version and in fact, I was one of the first ones to post a demo on YouTube when the Mustang 4 came out. In the picture below, I'm on the far left with the Sunburst telecaster and my Mustang amp is sitting directly behind the bass player next to drums. I like playing my amps at a distance when playing out live so I can better evaluate the sound and tone in the mix.

Awesome, me too and great pics. One question? When you first started up on the honeymoon stage, did you carry it over the threshold and if so was there any foreplay? <g>

The new Mustang GT 40, GT 100, and GT 200 all have Bluetooth and WiFi. The first amps in the world to have WiFi! Congrats, Fender. (Maybe wireless guitar is in the works, although, tried and true methods are hard to beat IMHO. Still, it might be okay at home).

It appears the modeling has upgrade attention. Mustang IV's successor may have had 50 watts added (can't say for sure, but along with the amp's 200 designation, two Celestion speakers appear to be labeled differently. I couldn't find a clear photo). Also, the 200's twin speakers are diagonal to each other rather than side by side. On the back - jacks are similar with one foot switch only with the USB moved to the back above the foot switch.

Top controls are similar but with a little different layout and minor changes in cosmetic design along with a colour display.

As for Fuse I could find no mention other than what appears to be a new Tone App.

A Floor model, Mustang V replacement with head amp and cab, and foot pedal information could not be found as of yet.

The handle is not flexible. It is more like the one on hard cases.

There is also some promotion of the 100 being performance ready and the 200 for larger venues. I guess we'll have to see and give them a listen.
FSB

Full specs are hard to locate, but some online stores have announced the amps.

Major props to FSB for spotting the leaks at the non-US online retailers! Lots of the search hits have been taken down, but some are still up. Looks possible that the Mustang GT 40 will retail for 200 Euro/USD with these specs: FENDER Mustang GT-40 ampli 40 watts, 2x 6.5 speakers, 21 amp models, 47 effects.

Also seeing the same models and effects listed for the GT 200, which is called out as "200 watts (2 x 100 in stereo)".

Here's the whole blurb on the GT-100 from another site:

"How can a modern legend like the Mustang digital amplifiers be improved? Simple-we do it again, bigger and better with the 100-watt Mustang GT-100. We take seven decades' worth of experience crafting inspirational tools and use it to add new(and better) amp and effects models while making it easier to use all of this without sacrificing one iota of power. We make it easy to control a studio's worth of authentic amp and effects models with one finger via Bluetooth and the exclusive Fender Tone app.We invent the world's first WiFi-equipped guitar amplifier, making it easy for you to download the latest updates, access Fender artist-created presets, and connect directly with a community of other creative players and music makers like yourself. We create the Mustang GT-100 digital amplifier...for studio and stage.Packed with 21 classic amp models-everything from the renowned '59 Bassman to modern metal -and 47 different effects, the Mustang GT-100 can easily recreate classic tones or create brand-new, never-before-heard sounds. We developed new algorithms with even higher fidelity and more realistic response, along with more signal path flexibility so you can move effects anywhere in the signal chain for creative exploration. Program your sounds in the studio on the Mustang GT-100's large, full-color LCD display and then, with one hand, take them to the stage and deliver the most realistic listening experience possible for any audience, short of inviting them into the control room. You can even stream audio from your mobile device via Bluetooth wireless."

Fun times!

Great Fender GT additional information, cthulhu. Thanks.

FSB

I also noticed GT's 2 year warranty on one site compared to the original's 5 year warranty. I have a year left in my version 1. This might help in the next purchase should I decide to make the move. :D
Kudos to Musicmatty for the photo showing that Mustang can be a gig amp (even version 1).

That online retailer that started with just books has the GT-40 for $249.99. Made in China.

The GT-40 being a true stereo amp is the most intriguing feature to me.

The biggest thing causing me to pause is no effects loop or aux out besides the headphone jack.

Yeah, but you are talking about their cheapest former modeling amps like the Mustang Mini, Mustang 1, and Mustang 2 and affordable for people who need it. I am certain that they will not leave this off on their higher end modeling amps.

I hope you are right. When I saw the GT40 had two speakers, I compared it to the Roland JC22. The JC22, while lacking the modeling features, wifi and bluetooth connectivity, if does have an effects loop.

I am looking forward to learning anout the larger versions and more importantly, whhat they sound like.

Aside from an official announcement on these amps, and considering possible speculations or maybe incorrect information, I tried to track down the Fender MGT-4 footswitch mentioned in the specifications provided thanks to cthulhu. Nothing turned up so far. No info or pictures were found.

The thing is . . . a different model 4 button footswitch came or comes with Mustang IV and V, and now the GT version is optional. If that isn't enough, there is a question as to whether the current optional two button switch (included for Mustang III) will be of use or if a dedicated GT two button switch is also required should it be desirable. Then there is the EXP-1 expression pedal. Should be interesting.

The GT-100 and 200 both have effects loop.

All three have 2-year rather than 5-year warranties.

I still want to check out the GT-40 as a grab and go amp.
