Ok, i have it and spent about 3 hours with it so far. I posted at the gear page my preliminary review and more posts after it as i continue to learn more about it. It's going to take a long time to really get to know it so i'll be posting updates regularly and answering questions in that thread. My initial post about it is post #193 in this thread... https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index ... 04/page-10

Thanks for the link and the updating flow of info.
I'll get the one with the 2 6.5" speakers, since I'll
only be using it with the computer.

Maybe those smaller speakers could be wedged into a V5 head,
if they're any good, someone did a similar mod a while back.
Maybe I'll find a lucky bargain on a V.
Cheers

Haven't watched it yet, but their reviews are always great. Andertons have just released a video review of the new Mustangs.

Sounds great on that Andertons vid - Danish Pete gets some fine sounds.
Yeah, slight shame the GT40 doesn't have line out but it should be a Yamaha THR killer.

I'd like to hear a head to head M III vs GT100.

The andertons video is done with a fender rep there. I guarantee you he made sure the sound was either fixed in the mix or recorded with EQ or whatever was needed to make it sound good because those stock speakers sound horrendous. Theres another review from music radar that shows the true sound of it and if you listen to that you'll see what i;m saying. They obviously just threw a mic up and you get the true sound. Go back to my link to my thread at the gear page. I said it in my last post just a few minutes ago....GT stock speaker=horrible, and i'd keep my V2 any day. GT with my EV or any good speaker=goodbye V2. NO comparison. NONE NONE NONE. I can't say this loudly enough. It's also the last time i'll ever listen to a andertons video and take it seriously. I own it, i have spent hours tweaking both with the stock speaker and My EV. I doubt anyone else has done this yet, but i have and i nearly boxed it up and returned it till i decided to try the EV.

Yeah, sometimes the Andertons/Rob Chapman videos are great, but that seemed more like an advertisement than a real review. Like I've noticed they'll only review Line6 stuff there with a Line6 rep, so never say anything bad. I'm interested to watch the video with Rob Chapman, he often seems a lot more honest.

For what it's worth, I thought it sounded great with on the Fender models, but terrible on the distortion channels.

Hmm ok, that Music Radar one does not sound good - Andertons say they recorded with SM57 - the MusicRadar vid sounds like it was recorded with the camera mic.
Wait for the dust to settle I reckon..

Maybe M III can do speaker swap with GT100 - buyers of used M IIIs better be careful !

So I just got the GT100, but I can't get the Tone app downloaded. Has anyone else been able to download it? I get prompted for an ID, and I tried my account for fender.com but no luck. Also, any ideas when the new amps will be posted on Fender.com? I need to order the foot switch.

Awesome!

The 40 is basically my perfect practice amp:

Fender
Modeling
Effects
Programmable
LCD
Bluetooth
Wifi
New App enabled
Stereo
Full range
Looper
Foot pedal controllable

It's got it all.

Tempting. Very tempting.

Down side: according to cust service GTs do not work fully with Fuse. Possible desk top app in the future but for now its an IOS phone app. I think Fuse is one of the things that made the Mustangs such versatile amps.

Can you post a video comparing the internal speaker vs EV speaker?

Maybe you just got a brand new amp which has some defective speakers in some of them. We will see or should I say hear.

Ok, I am jazzed. I like that on this line all the amps have all the models and effects. The Mustang line put a smaller number for models and effects in the smaller amps. I have a Mustang III V1 and I do not need another 100 watt amp(way loud!). I agree with Fender Strat Brat, I like the carbon cover and graphics on the V1 MUCH more, the textured vinyl looks cheap to me.

I am really looking close at the 40 watt model but I am not to happy about the 6 inch speakers, is there a external speaker jack? I would think that 8 or 10 inch speakers would be better, but who knows, maybe it will be fine.

8)

OK, just checked the online manual and no external speaker jack.
