Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, and want to say hello and introduce myself. My playing guitar goes back to the sixties - yes I'm dating myself. It was a group called The Ventures that got me interested in playing. My first Fender guitar was a '57 blonde Tele. Unfortunately it isn't with me today. How I wish though. I primarily played rhythm guitar, and in my last years of school I played in a band. We played small gatherings in the school cafeteria after hours and on the school stage in the auditorium. I've always loved playing the Tele, and just recently picked one up again. It's been quite awhile since I've played. While in my local Guitar Center picking up an acoustic guitar for my wife to learn on I spotted, which I thought, an unusually laid out Tele - picked it up, played it, and the love affair started up again. That evening my wife and I walked out with two guitars. The Tele is the Modern Player with the honey burst finish. At the moment it's in another shop for a neck setup. To be honest with you, I couldn't believe how nicely finished it is, and it's a model out of China. When I played it at the store, it sure brought back fond memories. Can't wait to pick it up and hopefully remember some of the songs from my days of playing.

I look forward to my time on the forum and I'm sure I will learn a lot from you folks.

Cheers to all.

Will do. I took this picture the day before I took the Tele in for a setup. I purchased the Epiphone acoustic for my wife to learn on.

Hi F-Stop.

Like you, I played in the 60s, for a short period, and a few years ago, my wife encouraged me to pick it up again now that I have time. I'm glad she did. I discovered this Forum which has a ton of guitar related info. You'll also find a great group to help out, along with some friendly gathering.

Welcome, to you and your wife. Enjoy the Forum, and your great looking guitars.

In a way, I mirror your account. As much as my wife didn't directly encourage me to play again, but for her desire to learn to play herself, and when I saw that Tele at GC, it was her that suggested I purchase it after she saw how excited I was in playing it. Ain't wife's wonderful. :D

Yeah. We is lucky in the wife department . Just like the ad says "Looking for a relationship.Must have boat." "Must have guitar" seems to work too.

Nice that your wife wants to take up guitar. I wish the both of you enjoyment in that.
