Got back into guitar last year after a 20 year layoff (I wasn't very good - bin/basement bands), so I bought an Ibanez SZR-520 last year, and today my wife just got me a Mustang III v2 amp for my 57th birthday, which is tomorrow. Looks like my Peavey Bandit is headed toward the retirement home.

Been taking some lessons and, now on top of that, have to learn the fuse software. Already found a user-made patch I want, but I don't know know how to load it yet - LOL.

Anyway - I'm a longtime fusion fan, some classic rock also, and need to get into blues more. Also been a music journalist for close to 40 years, longtime student of guitar music. Big fan of Eric Johnson, McLaughlin, Coryell (BITD), Carlos, Ed Wynne, Jeff Beck, Fripp, Steve Hackett....too many to list.

Anyway - howdy ! Looking forward to meeting forum members and learning more about this awesome amp my even-more-awesome wife gifted me today.

Welcome Cosmic Debris! I love my Mustang III, it was a great investment. Hmmmm I wonder if you've checked this guitar out, seems appropriate:

Hi cosmicdebris, welcome to the fender forum.
As the others said, really great amp. I don´t own the III-version by myself, but I´m standing right next to the Mustang II and IV
