Ok, brand new here. Found the site a week ago. 62 years old and always had a guitar of some sort lurking around. Didn't do much with it/them. But, in Dec. my wife got me this Keith Urban guitar package for my birthday. Cute but, this lead to a guitar repair guy to dial it in along with a newly purchased Gibson ES139 I bought 3 weeks after which lead to a purchase of a Fender Blues III amp which lead to a purchase of a Fender Strat 1996 MIJ with Tom Short PUPs which lead to guitar lessons which lead me to lurk around the new (for me) wonderful world of Fender guitars and upgrades which lead me to buy a Lindy Fralin prewired pickguard to see if it will fit a Fender Squire I've had for a few years. Phew, a lot has happened in 5 months.

I haven't been to a guitar shop/store in years. I stepped in the Guitar Center in December and it went downhill/uphill from there.

So, I'm easily obsessed and now...I'm obsessed.

Question, any suggestion what would be a good Fender Strat for the money to drop this pickguard into? Any year MIA, MIM or MIJ I don't care. Just a good foundation. Might as well strike while the obsession is in place.

Thanks for having me and welcome your opinions.

Tom

Welcome aboard Snegrah.

Yes, guitars and gear can be addictive. As for the pick guard, what is your budget for a guitar? Fender now sells separate necks and bodies, so you can put together something more customized.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
