Hey all,
I've been a Fender guy for as long as I can remember. I was born in 1968 and my dad owned a 1966 Jazzmaster. I didn't even know there were other electric guitars until one day I realized that those ones all those famous people played actually DIDN'T look just like my dad's guitar (see, I was a kid... to me, Stratocasters and Jazzmasters looked very much alike... just sayin').

He has since passed, but not before instilling a love of Fender guitars in me.. and passing me his old Jazzmaster. I own several Fenders at this point, much to my wife's consternation. My collection is actually rather simple: Stratocasters, Telecasters and Jazzmasters. A couple of each. Usually when she says, "More guitars??"... I find a picture on the internet that one of you may have posted showing a room full of guitars. Then I point to my closet full of guitars... Then she says, "So what?" ... Then I say, "You're right, dear..."

Anyway, for 51 years I have been a fan of Fender guitars, and I hope the ones I hold near and dear to me will be loved by my people 51 years from now.

Steve

I enjoyed reading your introduction, Steve. I graduated from high school in ‘66 and saw those great Fenders in action during that time. Nice that you and your father made that Jazzmaster connection, and the love of music. I’m sure your other Fenders get a good workout with love.

I use your argument of comparison too. Worked for awhile - a short while. My wife is still with me so at least I’m getting mileage out of it. :P
Enjoy it here. Steve. :D
